PlayStation Store relaunch now live in North America

The previously delayed revamp of the PlayStation Store is now live across North America.

The US, Mexico, Canada, and Brazil (which isn’t North America, but good on them anyway) can now join Europe and most other countries that have had their PS Stores re-launched for over a week.

The new Store not only sports a sexier look, but adds such new features as Most Popular charts, an improved search engine, and more filters.

In case you’ve forgotten, though, here’s Sony’s video walkthrough of the new-look Store from a few weeks back.

Thanks, Joystiq.

not too impressed so far. seems like a lot more digging around to find anything. maybe I’ll get used to it.

Just checked it out, love the new look, and finding stuff on there was quite easy. Good on ya Sony for finally fixing up the Playstation Store.

It’s both good and bad. It looks really sleek and it’s great for finding older games, but I don’t like how everything is all jumbled together for new releases, instead of in a whole bunch of different categories. I liked that if I was looking for new add-ons, there was a whole section every week for that. I guess I’ll get used to that, though.

Is that the reason for my PS3 to keep freezing on me on start up? That’s never happened before.

@5 – probably not, since you have to actually download the new version of the store. Sounds like your system may be dying or something’s wrong with your hard drive. Is it a fat one?

New design a bit of annoying — lot of useles adverts at top, and lists of games are hidden around 3rd screeen.
