Minecraft Review

Mojang's phenomenal sim comes to Xbox Live Arcade

First released on PC in 2009, but only deemed formally worthy of purchase last year, Minecraft is one of the most convivial games ever made, a sandbox editor which has given rise to an annual convention, hit YouTube weeklies, memes, factions and a clothing range. To play it is to join an enormous community of like minds. And yet, for the first couple of hours, it's also one of the loneliest games you'll ever play.

There's the initial race to build a dwelling before night falls and the world's monsters come out to feed - clawing down trees to assemble a worktable and tools, then bodging together walls and a roof from hunks of earth, wood or stone. Minecraft's handling of darkness is engagingly primeval: most beasties (sadly not including the explosive Creepers) require low light conditions to spawn, making torches a precious commodity. Crouched in your warren, listening to the sunk-eyed cuboid terrors milling outside, you'll feel like a Neanderthal eavesdropping on sabre-toothed tigers. The breezy retro aesthetic and lilting score are deceptive; strip it back to the bedrock, and Minecraft is about fighting to survive.

Garden of Eden

Once you've equipped your nook with the necessaries - a bed to save your game from, a furnace to prepare health-replenishing food - fear of the dark gives way to the disintegrating sensation that arises when you've got bottomless potential and no clear instruction as to what to do with it. Minecraft offers dozens of different block types and countless ways to combine them, but it can only give back what you put in. There's little that can't be built using the raw materials, from the obligatory willy-shaped castles through glass-walled rollercoasters to rudimentary logic engines, but if you don't have a vision, it can be very hard to keep momentum.

Thankfully, the Xbox 360 port benefits from a generous tutorial mode - essentially a part-built playpen with all the main elements on show. This complements the cunning of Mojang's environment generator, which groups blocks and non-playable characters intuitively to create order amid chaos. Tunnel down and you'll discover coal, iron, sandstone, zombie nests, abandoned mine shafts and buried ruins whose treasures enable quantum leaps of in-game technology. Veins of water and lava wind their way through chasms, sandy hillocks bristle with cacti, and giant squid can be seen frolicking out to sea. However sketchy your overall objectives, and however dense the terrain, there are always cues you can follow.

What's mine is yours

It's easy to fuss about the presence of other players once you've sculpted a corner of the world to your liking, but quell those over-protective parental instincts - Minecraft's drop-in split-screen is far and away Xbox Live Arcade's richest and slickest co-op experience to date. The framerate lumbers a bit when there are three other players on-board, but that's a small price to pay for the privilege of teaming up to explore a cavern, or populate a hilltop lighthouse with Jack O'Lanterns, or carve out a statue of your mum. There's online multiplayer, too, increasing the maximum headcount to eight. We plan on re-enacting the battle of Helm's Deep at some point. Wish us luck.

4J has turned in an accomplished port, boasting crisp, high-resolution visuals and a reorganised inventory. We noticed the odd minor bug, like items that refuse to craft, but it's nothing you should lose sleep over. It's pushing it to say that this is the definitive version - thanks to Microsoft's certification procedures, the PC game will probably benefit from more frequent updates, and how Mojang intends to handle user mods like custom textures remains to be seen. In terms of console sims, though, nothing touches it. Minecraft's world is one that everybody should experience.

The OXM verdict

  • Unique, sumptuous worlds
  • Build everything, from everything
  • Startlingly atmospheric
  • Brilliant multiplayer
  • A high-quality port
The score

Scarily deep, but incredibly well-crafted

  1. Im really looking forward to this but all my friends say they won't play cuz its boring. INGRATES!

  2. I never saw the point of Minecraft. Build a house/castle is what I thought it was, and it is to a point. The wife got the pocket edition on iPad the other day and it has the whole family hooked. It's that bad that we have it on the iPhones too!

The problem with the game is that it sucks you in, without you realising it. You start by building a little hut for the first night and when the sun rises you go do what ever. My first quest is to find the highest hill and build a massive wall around the top, thus making a fortress that no zombie could enter. Then I mine for coal which can take some time on PE. Also on the PE you can't do that much yet. It's still work in progress as its still in Alpha stage.

I will get the game on Xbox just so the kids can attack the missus when she's mining.

Oh and when you do play Minecraft, for those who haven't played it yet, get ready to loose lots of hours. I was up till 2:30 the other night just trying to build a glass roof on my castle. :D

  3. Great Game!

  4. Top score eh? That pretty much cements it for me then, should be good fun.

Surely some sort of OXM meet-up must be in order?

I expect your first minecraft project to be a detailed scale replica of the OXM offices, including the cupboard they kept you locked in for the week - you can invite us all in then to 'help improve it'! :D

I'm just waiting for Bezza to ask for help with Shadow Moses - It'd be a bit like Shepard inviting the Reapers to earth!

  6. Wow great stuff, wasn't expecting anything less really.I will certainly be downloading it tomorrow.
    :D

  7. Well that is my mind made up, bring on tommorrow! Quite looking forward to it too and yes we need a couple of OXM nights in the near future.

  8. The PC version is fantastic, and hopefully you get the same feeling with this one as you do with the PC one.

  9. I had no prior interest in this, but a perfect score means I'll definitely check out the trial. I just don't like the concept - I never use map editors or anything because they do my head in and this game seems to just be a glorified one.

  10. Surprised by the 10/10, I've liked the style and concept since I read about it in november (completely ignored it at last years E3, what is this low-res poo) but I thought it would be a much more acquired taste as you make your own fun.

I look forward to building shadow moses, and would welcome help. However it is all too tempting to go into someone else's world and like Ed suggested, go off and construct something/demolish something for them to discover, so I would fully expect no quarter in retaliation.

  11. When is it released???

  12. When is it released???

Tomorrow or the 9th of May to be exact.

  13. I just bought 1600 mp... I'm waiting for tomorrow... And i'll buy Minecraft...

  14. Couldn't wait for this anyway but this score's made me even more excited for it! :D

  15. Love it on PC so will definitely be picking this up tomorrow, can't wait.

  16. i thought this was suposed to be out today??

  17. i thought this was suposed to be out today??

It is i just downloaded it.

  18. must have just come online then.. i was up at 5 this morning and it hadnt come up... then checked again at 9,

just tried to download... it says i need 4294967295 microsoft points..... WTF!!!!

just read the other thread about them not wanting us to buy it yet... i maintain my WTF but am no longer scared ive been hacked

  19. You don't have 4294967295 MS points spare? Cheapskate.

It's not released on the dashboard officially yet, just dl the trial and then buy it or get it from xbox.com. OXM have put this in their article on the site today. (Search Minecraft on XBLMarketplace, then dl trial if you can't find the game on the xbox).

  20. Been hooked on this on the PC and just tried the demo on the Xbox version. In the tutorial (just to see how everything runs on Xbox) and already there are problems. Apparently it wants me to cook some wood in the furnace to create coal. Got wood in the fuel and ingredients sections of the furnace and nothing at all is happening :(

  21. That's weird i have downloaded the whole thing not just the trial. Not experienced any bugs.Still trying the tutorial been blown up by a couple of creepers, lol. :D

  22. Bloody nora it gets dark quick, I've been playing five minutes... I think... and I've had to make a dirt hut rapido with no door, can't see anything, don't know if it's daylight yet. Just checked, it's not, spiders everywhere, fill that hole back up. Thank the heavens for gravity defying dirt because I did not have enough to make a full roof.

  23. I know what you mean Bezza i got caught out and had about six things chasing me.Got blown up by two creepers in the end, lol. :D

  24. That's weird i have downloaded the whole thing not just the trial. Not experienced any bugs.Still trying the tutorial been blown up by a couple of creepers, lol. :D

Did the furnace tutorial work OK? I've not made coal by burning wood before, but it really doesn't seem to work at all. Trial ended before anything started to happen in the furnaces.

Yeah everything has been working fine.Made a furnace to get charcoal and make some glass. As i said earlier i managed to get the full game not just the trial and it put a 3mb update on it straight away, wonder if that is anything to do with it?.

No it added the 3mb update when I downloaded the demo. It says in the review that certain items refused to craft, so this may be a similar problem.
It'll be a week or 2 till I can afford this, so hopefully it'll have been fixed by then.

  27. I was going to get this for my son, he loves the free pc version and plays it for hours, he just builds and builds and I have never seen him run out of resources or gather them..

Apart form Multiplayer.. What is the difference between this and the free PC version.

I don't know anything about Minecraft by the way!

  28. The free pc version has unlimited supplies of everything, and no enemies, or time of day changes. I think, I only played a bit myself of the free pc one, there's no cows/pigs/sheeps :D /Wolves/Creepers, and there's no crafting because everything is already available.

The paid version offers these bits, ands adds an element of danger/survival as well as strategy to your building - in that you have to gather resources, like wool from a sheep, wood from a tree - and then build a bed in your home by crafting it, because at night enemies will attack and sleeping brings daylight. Well worth buying in my opinion, and there is an easy mode in case things get too difficult.

  29. Crafted door...won't fix to doorway...yoink!

  30. You can stop yourself falling over the edge,if you go into sneak mode by clicking the right stick.Well built myself my first little shelter for a couple of nights, still no bed as it has started me in the desert, lol. Were are the bloody sheep !!!!!!!!.

  31. Managed to get some more time free now, restarted because I couldn't find my stuff from when I blew up. You actually have a sense of panic when the sun goes down, if you're not near your house you are screwed, I tried to go to sleep but my bed wasn't placed correctly so I had to stay up all night, with some walls filled in with dirt hastily from being blown up by creepers.

  32. Yeah i had that trouble Bezza, couldn't find the stuff.I am not sure if it leaves it all or forfeits you some for getting blown up.I still haven't got a bed only found one sheep being started in the desert and haven't had the balls to go too far away from my first abode yet, lol.

  33. I was in the desert, I ran in a random direction, then saw the sea, made a makeshift Island and am building a treehouse.

  34. There are some things missing worse luck because of the version. You can build a fence but not a fence gate, had to bodge a door there for now to keep the cows in lol.

  35. Do you now if there is a way to transfer saves from the PC version?
I have it on PC, and it would be nice to be able to upload my saves to a USB and just continue my adventures on the Box.
If not then I might be a little disappointed.

Downloaded it from Xbox Live and let him try it.. and he don't like it!, no infinte supplies of materials etc... mind you he didn't play it very long, kids eh!! he is back playing the free pc version... saved me 13.60 towards Dragon Dogma.

  37. Had a bash at this, this morning, and the only thing I could think was: "Weird, low resolution, blocky, universe".

Big fat no. PC is on version 1.8 or 1.9 now, 360 is on 1.6, they're not compatible.

I have been playing the PC version the last couple of days (full one) and played this one all day today, and I gotta say, the differences in content aren't all that big. The later versions add some nice stuff, but nothing that I'm really missing so far. The biggest difference is the crafting interface, which is seriously different. I don't see the point of it though tbh. Or more accurately, I DO see the point of the new interface, but I don't see why is was needed. The PC interface would work equally as well on 360. No loss though, loving every second of it. So far I've built a house and dug a mine. That's it, but my mine is a big old bugger.

  40. Just one teensy problem with the multiplayer... how on Earth do you play splitscreen? I've heard something about a HD television requirement and Gold Memberships, but I'm really stumped... can anyone help? The internet is awash with contradictions at the moment.

  41. Splitscreen? Just start the game up normally and load up your map and press start on another controller when you get into the world, or any time whilst you are in it. Job done.

  42. i have a HD TV and i have pressed start on another controller but it still doesnt work

    Shame.
Doesn't put me off that much though, I can at least hope they may be able to do this at some point in the future.

  44. Gotta say I am hooked and very addicted. I started by tunneling out a mountain and making my self a little cave den, four hours on I have started making it into a fortress along with a very deep mine which I had found underneath. I have not explored much from where I have been but the natural caves underneath are pretty cool even got myself a lava pit and a stash of iron ore (still digging). Cant wait to play some more of the co-op, is it 4 players max?

  45. Bought this earlier it's awesome only planned to play for 30 mins 4 hours later I'm still mining deeper and deeper under my little hut good times. I died on it earlier and lost all the items I had on me but hey risk and reward lol

  46. Good god I've just sank 5 hours into it without realising. I only built 2 houses!!!!

  47. Ok, i didn't really get the point/idea of minecraft until recently basically because of sheer & deliberate) because of millions of other backlogged titles) ignorance. After 30 mins of co-op/vs multiplayer on the tutorial though i just hit buy.

If ever a game was needed to demonstrate to publishers that simplicity and design trump graphics, guns & bullets this is it... It may not be the best game i ever play, i may after a few more hours not even be arsed to play any more, but until that time, i will just enjoy it for what it is - we all have the same tools, but no doubt we're all enjoying completely different outcomes & events. Awesome :)

  48. I just connected 2 mountains together with a giant house. I love this game

It is 8 player online, 4 local.

To the guy who can't do splitscreen, don't have it as an 'online' game. Maybe that will work?

  50. Had a bash at this, this morning, and the only thing I could think was: "Weird, low resolution, blocky, universe".

Was that really the only thing you could think?

Unfortunately, yes, and I wasn't blown away with it like I thought I was gonna be.

  51. Just one teensy problem with the multiplayer... how on Earth do you play splitscreen? I've heard something about a HD television requirement and Gold Memberships, but I'm really stumped... can anyone help? The internet is awash with contradictions at the moment.

You don't need Gold Memberships (at least as far as I know) but yeah, you do need an HDTV for splitscreen.

I had the same problem when playing with my little brother yesterday. For some reason, you can't craft anything in the furnace unless you placed it there yourself. So, in the tutorial, just hit it 'til it pops into your inventory and place it back down again. Hopefully it should work after that.

  53. does anyone know how to put a giant squid into the huge glass fish tank i've made?

  54. Not something I was going to buy, Microsoft provided me with a copy for my site so I got stuck right in.

I wasn't expecting much, but I have been blown away. I have done very little and still spent more than 4 hours on this already today.

I keep dying though, which is winding me up a little, any tips? I built a shack and "went to sleep" but got messed up by a skeleton....

  55. I keep dying though, which is winding me up a little, any tips? I built a shack and "went to sleep" but got messed up by a skeleton....

yea i had to nearly cover the floor with torches just so i could sleep... whats that about?

  56. Enemies can spawn anywhere there is darkness, so put out plenty of torches. As a rule I say a torch spreads light 4 squares in any direction, that may not be exactly correct, but rule of thumb and it has been fine so far.

  57. I told my girlfriend about this game and said it would be her kinda game and she ignored me! But after watching me play it for 30 mins she made her own game world (on peaceful) and got stuck in! Before i knew it my cousin in south africa joined helped her build an amazing wooden house with windows a garden, massive mine shaft with redstone and diamonds and on my world i have a shitty hole in the side of a mountain  First time i have sat down and watched the missus enjoy a video game using a proper controller brilliant.

You have to mine for coal i think? i did anyway just dig in a mountain or in the ground and you eventually hit a coal vein :D

  59. when you build a minecart is says that it can also transport animals and monsters... how do you get them to do that?!?!?! i could have a pet spider!! or solve my puting a squid in my fishtank problem

  60. According to cvg Minecraft is the fastest selling XBL game, beating Trials record.Notch has said that they recouped the outlay within an hour,WOW!!!.Apparenently he has been getting some grief because they have wangled it with MS to give some free updates for it.Which is not an easy thing to do he reckons.

  61. Great stuff found some Obsidian, bloody tough to mine or what.Thats means i can build a nether portal now.Bloody hell better stock up on the good armour etc.,lol.
    :D

Yeah I know you have to mine for coal, but you can also make it by cooking wood in the furnace. In the demo this didn't work, even though that is what the tutorial is telling you to do it. Because you can't actually do it its impossible to progress beyond the tutorial.

  63. im starting to fall out with this atm... first whare the hell can you find a saddle. ive looked for these so called dungions but i havn't found one yet... second whare the hell is the clay for bricks? and third how do you use a minecart to transport animals and monsters?? it says you can do all these things but i cant figure out how.

  64. I think you craft the saddle and clay from other materials - press X to check ingredients, I only just discovered the bucket and that you smelt ore to make ingots, didn't do the tutorial and am loving having to discover things for myself*. Look on the Minecraft wiki for transporting monsters and other problems, it's very in depth.

*Saying that, the wiki told me snow only appears in certain biomes, and the biome where I'd built most of the beginning of shadow moses, there was no snow. Start again, doh!

  65. Not sure if it is the only way but i found three saddles in a chest in a spider spawning room. There are some things missing from this version that you can't craft or do.I have a music player in my house but i think you can only find the discs for that in chests lying around.

  66. ok so i downloaded the trial yesterday, had a pop at it for around 1hr whilst my mates b*tched about me being a sad sack getting a low res 80's style game. i still cant convince them to get the trial and have a bash, but i'm off to trade some games for points, for this. after reading the comments, ye guys have it sold to me! if anyone wants to help a n00b bulid even the most humble dwelling (kept getting blown to smitherines in the trial lol) then hook me up. cheers! will see you in my world, or yours!

  67. just had a look and aparently the 1.6.6 version (the one this one is) had a glitch whare clay would only spawn whare the x and the y coordinates were the same and only if thats near water. meaning its EXTREEMLY rare. it was fixed by 1.7 so our next update should fix it.

  68. Just went into first trip properly underground, diamonds, gold, blue shit, obsidian everywhere. Takes years to mine obsidian with diamond axes. It's a bit of a ballache tbh on your own. Anyone fancy joining up later, listening to football atm but will be on after.

  69. Mining Obsidian takes bloody ages. Takes even longer when you keep falling into lava while mining it. Became mates with about 10 wolves as well so there's little room to move in my humble abode.

ok how the feck do you find all that stuff? i practically hollowed out a mountain and only got 3 small coal veins and a wee bit of iron ore

also how do you stop zombies and skeletons waking you in the night? i think i've everywhere lit up (have a makeshift bed in my mine) and keep getting done in by these

  71. I've changed it to 'peaceful' mode at the moment, fed up with them poxy creepers blowing up my sh*t when I get it just how I like it.

  72. I just built the portal to the nether last night that place is scary but the obsidion was hard to mine. I only found enough diamonds to make 1 diamond pick axe and it was worth the slog to find the diamonds that pick axe goes forever. I have not found a spawn pit yet but my friend has but he has been playing the game for a few years on the pc so he is my go to on all things minecraft.

Are you mining down? I was at least 100-150 blocks deep. My tips for mining are get coal first so you can make loads of torches, then dig down to get enough iron to make a pickaxe and some armour. Then dig down and you should find a cavern somewhere filled with amazing stuff.

Torches next to your bed and outside the house are needed to stave off the midnight creepers.

  74. I have just built a nether portal. Not going to tne nether yet though, building and nice fortress over the top of it.A good tip for getting obsidian is try and get water and lava to mix.In my latest excavation underground, which is right under my house, lol,i managed to divert a water flow to a massive pool of lava by excavating strategic blocks to change the water flow.I have got shed loads of Obsidian to mine now.Diamond is pretty hard to find i was underground nearly all my hours of playing yesterday and i still only have about 15 pieces.Made a couple of pickaxes though for my trip to the nether.Really enjoying it,will be glad when we get an update though.

  75. excellent game really enjoying playing this game at the moment :)

You need to make sure your bed is in a separate well lit room. If you've just got your bed placed randomly in your mine with a few torches round it then enemies can still spawn in the darker areas and just walk up to your bed. Only sunlight kills them. Torchlight just prevents them from spawning nearby.
Also with regards to mining, you say you've hollowed out a mountain, which implies that you entered it from the side. All the good stuff is DEEP underground. Mining into a mountain horizontally won't give you much return. You need to mine straight down. It sounds like your best bet would be to build a base on the surface with a proper bedroom with a door on it, then use that to mine straight downwards. My way of doing it is to mine straight down for a bit, then open out a room from which I'll later branch off in 4 directions. Keep repeating this till I get to the bottom of the world (when you hit black stuff that can't be mined). Your main priority should really be making a secure surface building first though, before mining. If you stay under ground all the time you'll eventually run out of food and die.

  77. Tips on mining:

1: do it on peacefull so ou dont have too worry about monsters to begin with.
2: find a pree made cave, plant torches every now and then, so you can folow the light back, if you see a vain of ore dig till its finished then go back to the main tunnel. you are GARENTEED to find some of everything (as long as its deep enough)
3: red stone, gold, and diamond can only be mined with stone (or maybee even iorn i havn't checked) and above so if ur diging with wood you'll get nought.
4: if you see lava, SAVE! too many times ive been mining for ages, got a ton of stuf then axidentaly fallen into lava and lost it all.
5: order of rarety from comman to rare is; coal, iorn, red stone, lapis lazeres (the blue stuff), obsidien (at least in my world) gold and diamond.
6: 9/10 diamonds are found next to lava, usualy in an awkward place above it so you have to build a sort of path to underneeth it or you'll loose it to the lava.
7:if your not carefull with the mining you WILL fill up on stone and gravle so try to only dig it to get to an ore easyer. if you do fill up with it ether dump it into lava or bury it (dig two holes down dump it in the botom then use stone or dirt to cover it up)
8: when your full (or bored) ither go back folowing your tourches or dig straight up ether creating a sort of spiral starecase or jump placing the stuff below you.

    happy spelunking!

  78. cheers lads, i hit lava today and there is also an underground waterfall meeting it. how do i make it into obsidian? both flow into each other but it seems to only make rock where they meet

@ windowlicker: the funny thing is, is the room i'm in has 2 doors - 1 linking it to my first house via well lit corridor and door into house, and the other opens to the mineshaft. if i'm in the original house its fine but i get attacked if i'm in the mine's "base camp" even with all doors closed and torches everywhere

  79. Do you have iron? make a bucket, then chuck the water onto still lava, running lava makes rock, still lava makes obsidian - you can block off the lava somehow and meet it with the water or vice versa too, but the bucket trick is the easiest.

  80. Tips on mining:

1: do it on peacefull so ou dont have too worry about monsters to begin with.

    1. That makes it boring though! I view putting it on peaceful as almost cheating.

    3. Diamond needs to be mined with an iron pick or better. Obsidian needs to be mined with a diamond pick.

    4. Is this right? I've only played the PC version properly but I know that it overrides any previous saves if you die and respawn. I cant see why the Xbox version would be any different.

    7. I find its best to make a store room and fill up chests with cobblestone, sand, dirt etc. Put a lava disposal pool in the room as well to get rid of anything you've got too much of. This is a good idea so you've always got supplies for when you feel like doing some epic building.

Are they attacking you in your sleep or is it just saying "you can't sleep as there are enemies near by"? You might just have to pop out and kill any lurking mobs before you sleep. Or just make the room much bigger and put the bed right in the middle.
Just to check, the room does have a roof on it doesn't it? They might be dropping in from above!

  82. Bloody hell it's a shame you can't craft a fireproof suit for the nether realm, lol.Great stuff two worlds in one game.

It is a shame though until we get a couple of updates that you random map generated only offers one season.Does limit the crafting options a bit when they aren't all there anyway.I kept on with the desert one,so no snow or certain types of wood as well.Still really enjoying it though.

Diamond armour is almost fire proof. Golden apples also help. But these items are only really viable after you've played for a while.

1: thats y i said "to begin with", once i got some iorn armour and sword i turned them back on again,

2: thanks, didn't know about the diamond thing

4: the atosave doesnt work properly, it only saves stats, so its realy a bug exploitation.

7:awsome tip. i was just refering to while your mining (i had 1 trip whare i'd filed up on rubbish, found some gold and couldn't pick it up)

  85. window, thats a great tip #7 cheers

got down to bedrock with still lava last nite with a mate, we had diamond pickaxes and threw buckets of water on the lava. mined obsidian, went to put more lava in the pools (easier that way as the lava is still) and both ended up getting frazzled. respawned and half the stuff got consumed by lava
quit without saving, will try again later. ALWAYS SAVE ONCE YOU FIND LAVA lol

If its a bug exploit then I'm sure it'll get fixed pretty soon. Probably not worth relying on it for too long.
I reckon its best to just be careful!. Don't forget to use the sneak control to stop yourself falling off ledges. Also if you end up REALLY deep underground then try to take a chest with you and regularly drop off any valuables you find. That way if you die then you wont lose too much. Its also a good idea to keep a chest of torches, picks and shovels underground.
Or just make yourself a mine cart track! They are lots of fun! :-)

  88. It's a shame about the whole split screen on non-HD problems at the release but that should be all fixed now! http://kotaku.com/5912095/microsoft-doe ... aft-gamers Minecraft is a brilliant game and the split-screen functionality totally sells it!

  89. This is possibly the most addictive game ever. But I don't know why?

  90. I like the game, didnt understand it at first but once i got use to it, i got pretty addicted to the game, fun to play against friends and family members, would love it if it was on the Andriod store or the samsung store so i could play it everywhere i go and show friends how it works incase they want to play it on the xbox with me.
    :)

  91. I bring good news - there is an Android version. I've got the trial on my Samsung.

  92. This game is great for the xbox! And I can't wait until the next update version 1.7.3 :) also me and. My bro play split-screen and it's an awesome experience and we discuss what things would be pretty cool for Minecraft like being able to repair your tools/weapons and armor for example for a diamond pickaxe you'd need a diamond to repair it and much more. And I hope the updates for xbox will match the Pc version ... eventually of course ;) well thanks for.. the GREAT game Mojang! SEE YA..
