Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 arriving Nov. 13?
Supposed box art for unannounced game indicates next Call of Duty title will be oft-rumored sequel, arrive during second week of November.
Source: A supposed Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 box art photo posted to the unofficial Modern Warfare 3 Twitter account.
What we heard: Gamers will have a new Call of Duty game to play this year. That's a certainty. New evidence today suggests that game will be Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, and will arrive on store shelves on November 13, 2012.
The box art appears to be for a European version of the unannounced game, but if the past serves as precedent, November 13, 2012 is likely an all-regions launch date. The most recent Call of Duty games Modern Warfare 3 and the original Black Ops shipped in most major regions on the same day.
A November 13, 2012 release date for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 wouldn't be a stretch, as new Call of Duty games have shipped on the second Tuesday in November since Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.
The image is muddied by a lens flare, which blocks out the gun-toting character's face, and the box itself appears to be a standard DVD case instead of the 360's signature green plastic. Additionally, the font for "Call of Duty" appears to be slightly dissimilar to materials used to promote past games.
Despite these issues, the character adorning the box art appears to be a crisper version of the figure highlighted on the Black Ops 2 rumored poster as well as the official GameStop teaser website.
Over the weekend, Activision updated the Call of Duty website with news that the next Call of Duty title will be revealed on May 1 during the NBA playoffs on TNT. Two Call of Duty titles have been confirmed thus far for release this year: a new console installment and a PlayStation Vita game.
The official story: As of press time, Activision had not responded to GameSpot's request for comment.
Bogus or not bogus?: Looking not bogus. A mid-November 2012 release date for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is a foregone conclusion at this point, with November 13 being a likely candidate for the game's actual ship date.
COOL!!
Cool
... this release date is on almost all the trailers...
i was only gonna pick this up if it was the last one for the console, BUT there already making another that sucks, all my homies played from 4 to waw mw2 ops then mw3 the maps were so bad we all just stopped playing, cant deal with this 1 year on to the next thing after pumping extra for map packs........sticka fork in me im done
just to add i also hate all the trash and subsystems they keep cramming in, deathstreaks yadda yadda yadda, for the 90z kids the most worthless self entitled cuddled, everyone wins and gets a trophy generation, things they keep adding to cater to them.
*yawn* I hope it never comes out and that Activision is disintegrated
I think MW3 was the last one I ever buy. Shame because I like Treyarch better.
sleepnsurf Me to ,loved w@w and ops
sleepnsurf MW3 was pretty bad. The best maps were the old MW2 maps they brought back. Luckily for me, though, I never bought it.
Not to be rude but who is still buying these games?
there is allot of different items added to the game and perks and a 3 team multiplayer that is the best part :0
i wish they do.
WoW, if they release it in Nov. 13, i probably think this game will be a blast for 2 years, the 1st one it´s just amazing, and i can´t wait for the second
Most of the time, gamers will lament that it's always the same everytime a new installment is announced although I find the new Black Ops 2 to be different this time, that if Treyarch's revelation about the game is to be believed. As far as the story is concerned, it is futuristic and speculative while still drawing some present scenarios as the basis. The story also seems to have links to the first title as the playable characted this time is the son of Alex Mason. The reveal trailer shows the leap goes back to the eighties set in afghanistan. The good thing I think about the new installment is the branching story feature. Reports around the internet seem to suggest some certain points in the single player campaign allows players to make moral and tactical choices to proceed. Each choice, of course, will lead to a different oiutcome. Failure to obtain certain objectives will also have remifications how the next battles will be played and will alter the fate of the character, adding to the replayability of the game. It seems that as the game unfolds, a player will have to decide whether Menendez is a sympathetic character of an all-out-enemy. While not quite original, this feature is indeed a very good enhancement to the franchise. The campaign will also feature Strike Force missions, similar to the mini-RTS (real-time strategy) levels. The player will be thrust into a sandbox battlefield where they can take control of several units including mech walkers, ground troops, and tanks, to better coordinate the attacks. Owing to the non-linear mode of the game, players will get to select different Strike Force missions at irregular times in the game. Now having control over an outcome of the game is awesome. I'm sure millions of other Black Ops fans are waiting for more news about this game. And speaking of gaming news, I'm yet to get more updates from Gamearena (http://www.gamearena.com.au/news/). There has been no additional news so far.
I'm still more excited for Halo 4.
I can't wait for this game to come out.
COD fans will slash my throat but I should say that I want a Battlefield 4 release
cccp3000
you wont see battlefield 4 for at least two years after bf3. They already have plans of expansion packs well into next year for bf3 and their next release most likely wont even be bf4 it will be 2142 sequel or maybe bc3 but I doubt it
djpetitte I want that 2142 sequel, ooh yes make it happen DICE
megaspiderweb09
YES! that was my favorite BF to date no doubt in my mind.
cccp3000 armour kill just came out, get real
y3ivan If real means DLCs then I hate reality.
cccp3000 Not for me. I LOOOOVE Battlefield, but Battlefield 3 kinda perturbed me. But now that they have already confirmed that it will be set in the modern setting AGAIN really ticks me off. Even CoD is going to the future.
Hopefully, DICE changes their mind and heads back to the future. Battlefield 2143? Hell yes.
Won't buy another Battlefield till I see 2143 and Titan mode again.
If you type this into google it shows that it will come out then and every website i checked says november 13, so i think that it will unless it gets delayed.
I really hope this is good, as I loved Black Ops.
Gameinformer has some more info on the game, and if someone requests it, I will try to pos the whole article on this site if it isn't already on here.
oh how original well since they are still releasing i guess there are people stupid enough to finance this cod 21 or is it 22?i lost count with so many
*rolling Eyes* like I didnt see this coming
INB4 2013!

anta t2oly ana en el l3ba nzlt ya ebn el kalb
hahaha
thats trueth 13-11-2012
DashRender619 you clearly care enough to comment.....
woo so nice
Black Ops Multiplayer > MW3. Hopefully this is an improvement.
This is what I'm seeing from at least half the comments:
- Fuck! Another COD game. I'm not buying, this is too much!
*Few months before release date*
- Hmm...the trailers doesn't look so bad and some of my friends are getting it. Maybe I should pre-order.
*During and after the games release*
- I got COD! *Plays it, beats it, goes online, etc* This game sucks
*Announces a new COD title*
- ...I'm not getting it
Skyt_Aura Rinse and repeat.
I will try not to get tricked this time!!!
Call of Duty releasing in November? No way!
Rumour control...."Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 arriving Nov. 13?".....Why is it under the heading rumour control? Why even speculate about thinking they know its coming out when blatantly its come out practically the same date every year! And anyways who cares,CoD is losing sales on every game that comes out!!
they need to really step up im not buying a fancy 80 dollar dlcpack this time
Guys I am a COD baby. I love and hate the COD all the damn time. My main complaint with the new MW3 is that there even tho you aim half the damn time either the guy with the better connection wins or your bullets don't register. What ever activison did to the last damn game they need to go back to at least MW2's hit marker system. Also I they need to come up with better maps BIGGER maps. Also lets at some environment damage that would be a nice change, nothing liek shooting an RPG in to a window and seeing the roof and window just crumble. I will buy the next COD for hope that at least it will be fun. Oh and i think Tryark or hwo ever you spell it has a more stable Engine than MW3. One i love the recoil on weapons, you know real recoil that MW2-MW3 never had , you know point and click. I made you have to aim and tap you weapon trigger instead of just spray and pray. We will see but i suspect that this game should be very stable and a lot more fun than MW3
DashRender619 I disagree; I clicked on it and actually appreciated the info. I dunno if it's all true, but it was entertaining at the very least; but to each his own, right?
Legrieme That's a GREAT blog! I love it.
I'm surprised they'd make another black ops because my friends and I didn't enjoy it as much as the modern warfare's and we were getting a similar reaction from people we would play with.
Zeldaguy124 They'll always be producing Call of Duty until they stop making money.
CALL OF MODERN ROBOT WARSHEEP 4
The trailer is probably misleading us, let's not think it's changed up just yet.
Although I have played every single Call of Duty game, I still can't stand them. Every year they rush to release a Call of Duty game without making substantial changes. They have been using the same game engine for over 6 years. Their single player campaigns always have the "shoot em up" play style with little to none storyline investment.
Black Ops 2, like many of the other games in the cod series, just incorporates concepts from movies and games. Black Ops 2 looks like a combination of Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, Homefront. The only unique concept that the cod series has ever had was the creation of Nazi Zombies in COD:WaW, and that was 4 years ago.
I think that all Call of Duty developers should / need to take 2-3 years off to fully develop a new engine and game. I mean, most other major game developers are constantly coming up with new concepts and pushing the envelope with their engines. However, they won't do this because they love robbing people and its a shame that people allow it.
