Batman: Arkham City Game of the Year Edition due next month
New version of Rocksteady Studios' action game bundling all previously released add-ons with Batman: Year One movie and final DLC Harley Quinn's Revenge on May 29.
Gamers who have yet to pick up last year's Batman: Arkham City will have an all-inclusive version available to them next month. Rocksteady Studios today announced Batman: Arkham City Game of the Year Edition, which is set to arrive for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on May 29 in North America. A European release will follow on September 7.
The bundle will include Batman: Arkham City (and every update applied to the game since release), as well as all previously released downloadable content packs.
Downloadable content packs included with the new version of the game are the Catwoman, Nightwing, and Robin add-ons, as well as the Arkham City Skin and Challenge packs.
On top of that, Batman: Arkham City Game of the Year Edition will pack in the Batman: Year One animated movie (USA and Canada only), as well as the final piece of DLC for the game titled Harley Quinn's Revenge. Harley Quinn-focused DLC for Batman: Arkham City was rumored earlier this month.
The Harley Quinn's Revenge story mission brings players back to Arkham City where they will play as Batman and Robin, fighting against new thugs in fresh environments. Players will make use of each character's unique skills on their way to uncovering Harley's evil plan.
Gamers can pick up the Harley Quinn's Revenge DLC outside of Batman: Arkham City Game of the Year Edition via separate download beginning May 29. The content will be released on the PlayStation Network on May 29 for $10 and on Xbox Live the following day for 800 MS points, or $10.
Batman: Arkham City was developed by Rocksteady Studios and shipped for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on October 18, with a PC version following on November 22. The game received a strong critical reception and shipped 6 million units.
this is not fair ,,for PC version they will release in November :( and for console in may >:(
Hello. I just bought this game but it says that I can download the movie "Batman year one". I can't figger out how to download it, can anybody help me?

DIOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
hey do you need internet to play as other characters in batman arkham city game of the year edition
Yassssss more hours of batman
Excellent, I still havnt yet picked up this game but this version sounds perfect for me :)
Harley Quinn is my favorite character of the series, that DLC sounds exciting.
@ Gamespot Staff Will this GoTY edition be added to the list of games? I currently do not see it, and would like to add it to my wish list. Thanks.
Any Idea how much this is gonna cost?
Well, that was fast. Not even a year later for the GOTY edition... oh well, the new DLC sounds really cool. I'll pick it up sometime.
More Harley Quinn? I'm sold. Pity I can't trade in my old Arkham City for the new version. Doubt it'll reach even a 3rd of the price.
Ah,Ill have to pick that DLC up. It sounds like it's worth $10.
Even if it wasnt made before the release they could still give it away for free as its obvious it has something to do with the main story
@Grovilis You realise that it probably wasn't ready then, yes? @Shinobi120 But they dont take content out, and save off on it for DLC? They finish the game, and whilst the office is say playtesting a bit later on, ironing out niggles, some of the team starts on creating some DLC. I imagine the Nightwing DLC didn't get started untill the game was released, at the earliest, never mind the Harley Quinn DLC. Imagine if we didn't have DLC? We wouldn't get better games straight off, we would get the released games, and then nothing extra. Perhaps they release and expansion pack for PC, but console gamers would not get it. Alot of DLC is the developers going 'oh that would be cool'.

This may be old news, if so, sorry. The official message boards for this game is saying that all of the content will be on disc! Excluding the obvious Year One download. This is now a definate, day-one purchase for me (brand new of course)!
@lusafis518 Because Microsoft didn't allow it.
I need to expand my PS3 collection, I'll probably pick up this and Arkham Asylum GOTY edition. If anyone else wants to suggest some games, mention my name in a comment.(no M ratings tough, little brothers runnin around)
@BibiMaghoo Is this the first time you see GOTY Edition AND DLC? As I said DLC dosen't mean it always continues the story. It means it gives a more experience that the original one. Usually greedy companies give some little skins and ask for money. Or story continuation that completely destory the original trilogy. Rocksteady on the other hand gave new characters with special moves and unique weapons Batman DO NOT have. What part is you don't understand? And it also gives Batman: Year one Movie FREE. That's save money for a whole another game. And what the hell you mean crappy character? You Batman hater?
@Bumblebee1138 lol, but the code comes with the game. It is more the case that Catwoman is an 'online pass' than DLC. It comes with new copies, it is not DLC. Yes, the characters have their own moves, but no story content, nothing that cannot be played with batman 'skins'. I guess you think its ok, but I think this goty version is poor, it only contains one actual proper piece of DLC. the rest either comes with the game or is crappy character skins (with moves).
@ Armyboy5 One month after the XBox and PS3 it comes for the PC. I can wait.
So will the whole game be on the disc? Or will it come with several one-time-use download codes that become worthless on resale?
ooooo,can't wait :D
I still haven't picked this game up yet, so it looks like I'll be waiting for the GOTY version. :) Edit: Just read that it is a September release for Europe, without the movie, and that doesn't seem fair. Why such a long delay, and will the European GOTY version be a lower price to reflect the missing movie? I doubt it. :(
Woah! European release in September?! I guess it's Amazon for me to get the U.S.A version at June.
Man this game is just too awesome!
Great game! However, I remember when Arkam Asylum GOTY was released in 2010. I upgraded my initial copy so I could play it in 3D and have the extra DLC, though my 360 recognised it as a separate AA game. Was a bit demoralised as all the hard work I did racking up my acheivements etc was ultimately for nothing (or so it felt) and I had to start over again for AA: GOTY. Gamespot, will this be the same for Arkham City? I suppose it's something to bear in mind for anyone wanting to upgrade.
wtf will be released in europe 3 months after the us
Guys there will be a PC version actually. As usual gamespot just gets the barebones of the details. http://community.batmanarkhamcity.com/forums/showthread.php/16289-Batman-Arkham-City-Game-of-The-Year-Edition-Featuring-Harley-Quinn-s-Revenge?p=267783#post267783
Other sites are saying the seperate DLC will be available APR 30th. Who's lying to me?
Wait... there won't be a pc version?... really?
Best game ever. Period.
They better made this DLC for PC as well considering they had released those waste-of-money DLC challenge maps and new skin on PC version.
man Harley is Hot!
Ugh...I just bought this like a week ago for $30. And will probably end up spending well over the game's initial MSRP just for the DLC I don't have. Story of my life.
lusafis518: lol that's because microsoft does not allow free content packs 99% of the time. That is why you get charged for it...
Good thing i never did get,so maybe this is my chance and i want the american version with all the goodies
europe September 7th?! WTF?! i hope that's a typo... also, i need this on PC. e: apparently it's not a typo. it better be dirt cheap then. i'm so pissed right now...
huh , how about pc version >
@Grovilis but we xbox users had to pay for the DLC for Left 4 dead 1 and 2 when PC got it for free
Batman:Year One staring Jack Black and Michael Cera
The Wii U version BETTER get this, instead of the standard version. It's best that future Wii U owners who didn't get the game (yet) on PS3, 360, and PC not get the shaft, considering that version is going to come late.
@Grovilis Just because "Valve-did-it" does not mean that every other company needs to follow suit. Rocksteady's stuff has always been very well-done, and I wouldn't mind paying extra for this. They released a bunch of extra free maps for Arkham Asylum earlier, and the single player for Arkham City was amazingly expansive, and well worth the money. ME2's Shadow Broker was paid DLC, and if this is even half as good, I would gladly pay for it. To expect all DLC to be free just seems like an entitled point of view.
so, no love for gamers already bought it last year? one week discount pack previous goty release? ;) by the way, where's my meowchell pheiffer costume? :(
@BibiMaghoo Catwoman can only be unlocked if you enter a code. So people who borrow this can't play it. And have you even looked in to Robin & Nightwing DLC? If they are just costumes why would Rocksteady spend thier time to create thier own unique weapons and different combat systems? And Helloooo DLC means Downloadable content. Not "countinue the story with this" content. So it's ok they don't have thier own story. There are lots of other companies who make very cheap DLCs and earn money but Rocksteady is not one of them.
Not on PC .... oh COME ON dude ...... Please on PC < puppy dog eyes > pretty please
I can live with the Nightwing and Robin challenge packs along with Batman's outfits being payed for DLC, but I kind of think that the Harley Quinn side story should have came with the game. Valve (the generous group of people they are) gave free extra campains for both the PC versions of Portal 2 and Left 4 Dead 2 (not sure about their other games) so why can't Rocksteady do the same? I just personally feel that something story related should, for the most part, be included for free.
good thing i never purchased the game on release... knew from day1 this was coming... glad my patience will pay off
