ModernMethod is the web publishing company behind Destructoid, Flixist, Tomopop, and Japanator. We don't write anything funny or interesting here, though, unless you want to know about us. We came up with the name by randomly conjugating Italian words and ultimately failing, then trying English words.
What we do: Our primary focus is to make our web sites and internal software cooler in every way possible. We write all of our own server-side code in-house, and hire passionate, specialized experts to blog about products on our web sites -- which are free for everyone to enjoy. Our engineers sometimes spin-off weird things like Sajax and FanBldr. More stuff is on Github in dubious states of disrepair.

We no longer do commissioned web design work, because we're somewhat popular among many discerning nerds. Our top site, Destructoid, as famously started as a prank to get into E3, where Niero first wore a robot helmet. The wiki on us is amusing.
Readership: Our current owned web sites serve 4 million unique readers every month, have served over 300 million pageviews since 2006, and our top video show has received 70 million video views on Twitch in 2 years. We're very lucky to have readers, and some of us even still have wives and husbands that haven't fled. Making our readers happy is job #1. In fact, we're so busy making stuff for them that this page is not very interesting as a result. We will make this autobiography cooler in time. Until then, we hope this covers all the important stuff.
Jobs: No. We have about 15 full-time salaried editors and engineers, and over 100 freelancers strategically placed around the globe. We do not need more people. We do not hire marketing or sales people in house at all, ever. We do sometimes hire writers. However, it is very hard to get a job here because we only hire rockstar people we absolutely love, so we never have to fire them. We're a little bit of a family, you can say. A very dysfunctional creative one, which makes opening our inboxes every morning fun. We are not hiring writers at this time -- please check back May 2013 when our Internship program begins again. Until then, make sure your writing portfolio is smoking hot. We don't care where you went to school, but you should graduate (probably). When we DO hire writers, it is almost always the top contributors within our communities.

They're old now, though, but still think that doing stupid and interesting things for a living is fervently important. Alexis Ohanian (Reddit co-founder) is on board of advisors. ModernMethod is happy running on our own steam, still independent, living the dream.
