The New York Giants entered the National Football League in 1925 and is the only remaining team of the five that were admitted that year. Current members of the NFC East Division, the Giants finished their inaugural season with a 8-4 record. The Big Blue garnered their first NFL championship win in 1927. Over the course of the team’s history they have earned a slew of league, conference and division championship wins as well as more than 25 Playoff appearances and a few Super Bowl triumphs. Accounting for the team’s age, the Giants lay claim to the oldest, and possibly the fiercest rivalry in NFL history dating back to 1933 with the Philadelphia Eagles. The standard divisional contentions find their place with the Dallas Cowboys and Washington Redskins as well as with intracity opponents New York Jets. The surprise adversary in the mix is with the San Francisco 49ers, a competition that is rooted in the 1980s and based on the two teams going head to head in the Playoffs multiple times in a short span. The Giants play at New Meadowlands Stadium located in the suburb of East Rutherford, New Jersey.
