GTA 5: First official artwork shows 'Pest Control'

"Lots of info coming next month," teases Rockstar. "Get ready"

Rockstar has released the first official artwork for Grand Theft Auto V, titled Pest Control.

The studio is gearing up for the next big GTA 5 reveal, with the open world action game set to adorn the cover of Game Informer's December issue.

Rockstar said today: "Lots of info coming next month. Get ready"

While we're still awaiting official news on the GTA 5 release date, past financial guidance from publisher Take-Two implied it'll launch before the end of the company's business year on March 31, 2013.

Rockstar released the last batch of GTA 5 screenshots in August, showing off a police chase featuring plenty of cars and a chopper.

The artwork seems a lot more colourful than that of GTAIV... It's almost got a Borderlands cel-shaded style to it.

so exciting to know more on this.

Artwork reminds me more of San An, but would make sense.

Ive been playing IV again and there is lots of humour still if you look for it like this!

I still buzz off Wong's Laundry slogan from GTA3.

'If it ain't Wong, it ain't white'

    :D

Pretty premature, don't you think? I don't want to be "that guy" but comparing Saints Row to GTA is pretty funny in itself because one has random silliness for fun whilst the other doesn't so much. No, one isn't "better" than other outright. They're just two different kinds of fun.

Its a bit like comparing a Jackass film with Scarface. Each to their own mind, some prefer one more than the other, no issue with that.

GTA IV was hard to get into storey wise, and it took me a while to go back and finish it, but im glad I did. I saw so much more when going back to it, it was really in the details. The humour is still there. The game though is like RDR and really well made. You can see where RDR got the weather from too.

I loved GTA4, the story and tone were perfect for me. I played around a bit with Saints Row, na not for me - it's for kids really, with that sort of juvenile sense of humour. I'd have loved it when I was younger no doubt about it, but GTA has grown up with me and the stories reflect that. If you want to p*ss about you can, it's just not so in your face.

Let's be fair, there's room enough for both games in the market, always makes a nice change from another Modern Blandfare anyway.

    Day one for me.

calling a late january release. they usually have a short window of hype. think IV was for january last time, but got pushed back for extra polish.

saints row 3 is an abomination of gaming, utter tripe. if you enjoy that, yes you should stay away from GTA.

    Here, Here!

If GTA4 was a delicious dish prepared by the best chef on the planet, saints row would be a lump of dog turd on a plate with a little American flag sticking out of the top. Like Barca says though, if you like dog turds with little American flags in them there is nothing wrong with that. Without people like you we would never have experienced the brilliance of Jedward!

A bit premature I agree, but I stand by it. I enjoyed the start of GTA 4 but started to drag for me after about 10 hours. My analogy would be the difference between a poncy meal in a restaurant compared to a Kebab with your mates. I wont doubt GTA games are well made but predictable.

Shoot some guys , drive away
    Drive while shooting
Drive while avoiding people shooting at you

This. Downloaded SR2 for free from PSN and it hasn't held my attention at all, compared to GTA games, which hook me straight away everytime.

I agree with you there. SR3 is a joke of a game. Not because of it's choice of humour, but how watered down it was in terms of features so THQ could milk it dry. It felt like they took everything that made SR2 brillant and tossed it out the window.

I have a feeling that we'll be seeing GTA V between April and June.

There was an element to that I agree, but it definitely got better the further in I got. I was a little underwhelmed at first too and why ive only just finished it, having left it over a year or so. My HDD drive corrupted and I was in two minds to play again or not. Glad I did mind.

Don't agree that SR3 was tripe.

Can see why some would not like it though, due to its over the top nature. I had a laugh with it though

Anyway, enjoyed GTA IV and look forward to this :D

It's cool that you didn't get on with it, sh*t happens! You are basically saying it was too repetitive for you.

Can I take this moment to inform you and anyone that hasn't yet noticed, that all games are repetitive at their core. (this includes sports, board games and especially eye-spy) Even your favourite game ever (regardless of what it is) is repetitive. The only question is, do I enjoy the core mechanics that I am having to repeat in this game? In this case you didn't.

Couple of examples (you have already done your version GTA4)

COD - Aim, shoot, aim, shoot, throw grenade, aim, shoot, melee, aim, shoot, aim, shoot (it goes on).

FIFA/Pro Evo - Play a game of football repeatedly however many times.

Elder Scrolls - Go to location kill/steal things, level up. Go to location kill/steal things, level up.

Personally I enjoy the repitition in GTA, Pro Evo and the Elder Scrolls but not in COD. You probably like one of the games mentioned above but haven't noticed quite how repetitive it is because you enjoy the core mechanics so much.

One other thing, GTA is all about the free roam and the epic police chases you can instigate! (I have to force myself to do the story missions because I'm always so busy upsetting the local community)

Your right and I do agree most games are very repetative. My favourite games are Geometry wars 2 and Bayonetta which are basically shoot everything and punch/kick everything. I think I just enjoy the gameplay mechanics more.

Also I wouldnt consider myself easily surprised but some of the crazyness had me shocked all the way through Saints Row, eg entering the matrix, Burt Reynolds, being given a chainsaw or fighting on Mars.

I guess I just never got bored.

Thats it dude, we're all different. A game can be lame and repetitive to one man whereas another may claim it's the best ever. There is no right and wrong in this scenario, only subjective opinions! (this applies to consoles/PC as well for any raging fanboys who may be lurking) Horses for courses and all that shizzle.
