I agree with you as far as SCC being an excellent game. It wasn't anywhere close to being GOTY for me, but I enjoyed it a great deal.

And if Fallout 3 GOTY and MW2 were in the running for awards this year, I confidently expect to see ME2 crop up at the Golden Joysticks next year, following the PS3 release (and they're BOUND to release a GOTY version for PC/360 at the same time...)

I'm curious as to whether the majority of PS3 owners are going to lap up ME2 as the excellent game it is, or go the infantile "poo wee willys, xbox game, yuck" route without even giving it a go...

Do you see the problem with commenting "Mass Effect 2" is "utter rubbish" if one hasn't played it, or something very, very similar to it? Sure, perhaps he played it on the PC, or perhaps he also has an Xbox 360, or played it at a friend's, etc. Hell, he might even still have the same opinion should he play the game in its entirety, and even if he hasn't he's entitled to his opinion, but stating that it's stupid for someone to comment on someone elses comment that is made about a game he may not have played because it's not out yet for what appears to be his preferred platform seems...imprudent.

Thats funny, I didn't realise I had to like films to be able to play and enjoy a 'western themed game'. Whether Westerns have been done before on the silver screen or not has no bearing on the games industry. The only similarities with GTA IV was that RDR used the same but updated engine. When was the last time you played an open-world third person/action RPG set in 1911 and been able to shoot a bears face off with a shot gun, skin it, then ride off into the sunset, Hmm?

If you want my opinions on FIFA 11 and MW2 then all you have to do is ask. If not, why not just comment on the article and don't worry yourself about what games I found enjoyable.

New Vegas was released too late in 2010 to be included, it might be a contender in 2011. I was also surprised Red Dead was not in the top 3. Never played ME2 cos I didn't like ME1. Maybe its worth a go since so many people seem to love it.

If you didn't like 1, 2 is not too different for you to like that. For me not sure what my GOTY is, not given it any thought but people have voted for ME 2 for this award so must be a popular choice not that I have to agree with it.
