So the site was down for around three hours this morning, and it finally turned out to be that our server's power supply was fried. It was replaced and we've got a new one & are now humming along just fine, but by SHEER COINCIDENCE, our next queued mix is... "HIGH VOLTAGE" from Sixto Sounds, off our Mega Man 9 album. WHY YOU MELTIN' OUR SERVERS, JUAN?? He explains:
"This is a remix for k-wix's Mega Man 9 project. My goal was to sound like Judas Priest circa 1988 and I think I came pretty close. Had lots of fun coming up with this after months of forcing a cover-ish remix with no real inspiration. Big props to Dustin for his patience."
Nice; Back in Blue surprised a lot of people by 1. finally coming out (!) and 2. kicking even more ass than previously anticipated, and now we've got yet another track to help prove it. More the second point, specifically. Blisteringly fast, things intro strong and stay that way, as machine-gun rhythm guitars trade the spotlight with searing leads & positively BRUTAL soloing. Yes, you've heard Sixto rock some VERY mean guitar solos over the years, but this is friggin' UP THERE - if not his most impressively insane, then at least insanely impressive. The arrangement itself may not be his most creative to date, but it certainly gets the job done, and let's be honest... the entree here is the white-hot guitar wankery. GUITAR WANKERY SO WHITE HOT, IT MELTED OUR SERVER'S POWER SUPPLY!! You heard it here, first. True story. Judges went through the formality of voting but it was unanimous, if concise, adulation for Juan's latest opus & his third posted ReMix of the year. Awesome, wild stuff.
Just stay away from our web server, man. Not cool.

I'd agree with Psychowolf that the source is kinda 'meh', but Sixto does it justice; definitely give it a listen if you're a fan of his other work.

Ahh...this track is unfortunately my least favorite sixto mix to date.
Maybe its due to the source not being that memorable in my opinion (that award goes to tornado man instead)
But yeah apart from that its the kinda style you expect from sixto by now and i can hear the Judas priest vibe in the beginning.
And the technical skills on show are incredible i gotta admit.. but i just wasn't feeling it :/
If you love sixto's work then you'll enjoy this but i personally feel I've heard better from him. sorry bro
