Offical Pirates of the Caribbean Site Goes Live
04.05.03 - 12:18 AM

Bethesda Softworks has announced that the offical website for its upcoming action RPG Pirates of the Caribbean, which is based on the upcoming movie, is now open. The game puts you in control of a freelance Captain being caught up in a struggle between England and France over control of the Caribbean in the 17th century. At the game's beginning, the protagonist merely manages to escape a French assault on an English island. Upon reporting this news to the governor of a nearby English colony, you are enlisted and given orders to infiltrate the island, which is now under French control. Obviously the game wouldn't be a pirate's adventure if there wasn't some mind-blowing treasure to be discovered as well.

Developed by Akella in cooperation with Bethesda, Pirates of the Caribbean is expected to be available for the PC and Xbox sometime in June and for the PlayStation 2 at a later date.
