Roland Lim

Roland Lim has been a Hong Kong Correspondent for Channel NewsAsia since 2000.
He has extensively covered the Hong Kong Legislative Elections and interviewed Health Secretary Yeoh Eng-kiong before he stepped down, following the outbreak of SARS.
He has also produced stories for programmes such as “Correspondent’s Notebook” and "Yours Truly, Asia", with features like ‘Suicide On The Rise In The City’.
From his base in Hong Kong, Roland also reports on Macau, Shenzhen, Guangzhou and Shanghai. He covered China's first-ever Formula One Grand Prix in 2004.
Apart from reporting and producing assignments, Roland also presents a regular market report on East Asia Tonight. The segment is an overview of the day’s trading activity in the region.
Roland joined Channel NewsAsia in 1998, starting as a business reporter/producer. He was also involved in producing stories for programmes such as Money Mind and Corporate Watch, during which he interviewed the likes of Richard Li of PCCW.
Roland has an accounting degree from Britain. Upon graduation, he became a corporate tax accountant for 4 years before joining Channel NewsAsia.
Roland is an avid movie-fan, and especially enjoys movies by Quentin Tarantino. His all-time favourite musician is Neil Young, and also thinks that the best-ever concert he attended was the one given by Neil at the Hong Kong Harbourfest.
