Borderlands Legends for iOS spotted
October-dated iPad and iPhone game will reportedly have players taking on waves of enemies, offer a levelling system, as well as "thousands" of weapons, and "strategic cover system."
The Borderlands franchise appears to be branching out from consoles and PC and coming to mobile platforms. A Gearbox forum user spotted an advertisement (below right) for Borderlands Legends in the Borderlands 2 digital strategy guide, indicating the game will release for iPad and iPhone sometime this month.
According to the advertisement, Borderlands Legends was specially designed for mobile and tablet devices. Players can control Mordecai, Lilith, Brick, and Roland in gameplay that has players taking on waves of enemies. Much like the console game, Borderlands Legends will allow users to earn experience points and level their characters, according to the ad.
A total of 36 unique powers and abilities, as well as "thousands" of weapons, and a "strategic cover system" will be up for grabs in Borderlands Legends, the ad goes on to say. Gearbox Software has not announced the game, and a representative from the company was not immediately available for comment.
As long as they don't start selling orange weapons, I'm ok with it.
They said they want make it for Vita. xD
I am excited. Can't wait to see it in the App Store. Hopefully it supports the iPhone 5's screen in full.
Hopefully no more than $5. Typically games of this level release between $3-6, but they could go higher. I doubt it will be higher though.
High profile games almost always release on iOS first. If they do well, then they are ported to Android. It's just the way it is. This is one of the reasons I chose iPhone over Android.
why everyone not remembering about Android
When are they going to release this for the Android?
wai the video captain scarlett!!!!
it better come to android or it will be like not releasing for x360
imprezawrx500 Except for the fact that there is money to be made on the 360, but not on Android. Other than that minor detail, it's the same thing.
I dunno, this smells of hoax.
Ok, looks like I was wrong, Gearbox just confirmed it themselves.
Borderlands: Horde mode
Completely strange and random question: If Transformers manufacture new generations, why are there female ones?
contraigon So people can fantasize about getting some hot robot action, or so people can write transformers fan fiction without it all being yaoi.
contraigon if such a life form existed, i think this 'manufacturing' would be the same as mutation is to our life. like organisms evolved through random mutation, so maybe transformers would evolve by randomly adding new specializations to themselves and seeing which of them are better.
I agree with the person who said "Who plays games on their phones?" Same here. But the answer is simply: "Those who are not driving."
OkRaider88 You hope they're not driving.
All the best, Gearbox.
Blah what a waste of time and money.
And crappy Android gets ignored by, yet another big name developer.
Mr_BillGates Android is anything but crappy. Troll elsewhere.
iPhone 5 FTW.

HA...
Galaxy > Iphone 5
Galaxy > Ipad mini
DO YOU GUYS THINK THIS WILL GIVE YOU THE OPTION TO FINALLY TURN INTO A DWARF DIG UNDERGROUND AND UNCOVER PURPLE SEA TURTLES AND RIDE THEM INTO THE DEATH STAR
heeheeeeehehehe man your random and funny, I've never seen another post more random and funny before, just blew my mind. *end sarcasm*
heeheeeeehehehe You clazy!
This will definitely spread the brand name around more for people outside the PC, PS360 market.
I hope there is a cross platform thing where this one unlocks stuff for borderlands 2
Solace427 I don't. Too many people could get screwed out of some good gear just for not being an Apple owner.
SolidTy Yeah, that's a good point. Can't argue there.
Solace427
would see a lot more if it unlocked skins for BL2
Hmm borderlands + cover system? Lets see how this works

I hope pirating isn't the reason for no Android. Cydia says hi
deadruler08 This would be sad.
deadruler08 I doubt it. Piracy exists everywhere, just as you said (Cydia and stuffs). It's really overstated when it comes to Android development.
There are more glaring problems, in fact. For example, the fact that Google Play (Android Market was a better name :( ) is one big clusterfuck with loads of trash apps being thrown into it every day. Epic Games was particularly annoyed at that, when asked about why Infinity Blade never came to Android.
There is also the fact that when you develop for iOS, there is only like 6~8 different devices you have to ensure your app works for, all running the same OS. That's against a billion different Android phones, not all of which can run the newest version of Android, and even then you have to account to the manufacturer's particular flavor of Android (i.e. what did they ruin in the system. Motorola is especially guilty of this).
So yeah, it's probably not piracy. I don't care either way, I don't play games on my phone :\ I just wonder how this game will work.
Lucca202 so do what iOS developers do for iphone 3gs and below. SCRAP THEM. Anything weaker than the galaxy s series/nexus don't waste time
deadruler08 Lucca202 The 3GS has been supported well considering the differences between it and the following 3 generation iPhones. The other 2 iPhones are just too underpowered with hardly any "real" graphical processing power.
Lucca202 makes a good statement which highlights the fragmentation issue that everyone is always talking about with Android. Sure; it's the most popular OS, but there are thousands of different "flavors" that create a complicated mess; especially if you are writing a game.
