Assassin's Creed 3 launching October 30
Ubisoft confirms third full-fledged installment of open-world action adventure game due by Halloween.
Gamers can get ready to return to the Animus, as Ubisoft today announced Assassin's Creed 3 will launch on October 30.
As reported by Kotaku, the news came from a Ubisoft investor conference call in which CEO Yves Guillemot predicted it would be "the biggest launch in Ubisoft history." The news confirms at least part of a purportedly leaked Ubisoft release schedule that surfaced this week, with Assassin's Creed 3 listed as a 2012 launch.
With Ezio's story wrapping up in Assassin's Creed: Revelations, the third installment in the series will shift its focus to a different protagonist. For more on the most recent installment in the series, check out GameSpot's review of Assassin's Creed: Revelations.
It's out the 30th of October and it's set in the American Civil war, it looks awesome and the new moves improves it!!
I LOVE ASSASSIN'S CREED!!!!!!!!!!!!
@Ninjarjuna No Ninjarjuna, that would suck. Don't get me wrong, I love ninjas, but I never want to see AC take place in Japan. This new environment and period in time is new and refreshing.
@altair-ezio thanks for refreshing my memory. hehe :-)
@toyo75 tell yur friend that the creed of the assassins is that "nothing is true evrything is permitted" nothing is true is to realize the foundation of our society is fragile and that we must be the shepards of our own civilization everything is permitted is to understand that we are the architects of our own actions and that we must live with our consequences whether glorious or tragic ( thats from revelations )
Remake it environmentally. Medieval Japan, shinobi warriors - now that would be awesome...
hmmm... it is about time for the annual AC game Maybe they could put in some modern fps segments, to remind us of that franchise they love so much. Lookin forward to the copy paste no changes multiplayer too
they should make a whole game about assassin creed tower defense for the psn and xbla i know i would get it since the tower defense was pretty fun to be honest with ya all
Franchises are stupid
Hey Ubisoft: No damn Tower Defence. Or make it worth playing. AC:R tower defence system sucked. Get back to your roots, AC1 had solid mechanics and gameplay while AC2 had an awesome story (and sharp controls too). AC:B added allies (wich was cool), cool new weapons and challenging multiplayer. AC:R was good, but not as great as it's predecessors.
I'm excited, especially since this AC is probably going to end the whole "End of the War 2012" concept in AC.
lol , Tower Defense in last one !!! I bet this one have Arthas or Deathwing in it :D
colonial america
Imperial Russia is my bet
Desmond has been faffing about in the animus for 4 games now. I have no idea how he'll be able to justify reliving the memories of an ancestor when poo has already hit the fan in the present day. Not that I don't enjoying seeing the past but I do want to know what the hell is going on with all this "the worlds going to end" malarkey. I think Ubisoft is scared of making a game that centres entirely on Desmond and they are right to be scared. He has about as much personality as a brick.
whoa I can't believe it a new hero new story maybe a new gameplay so you can not imagine that bye bye ezio Auditore
I'm pretty high right now, so i want to share my story with you guys. I never played any Assassin's Creed games (only 1 a bit) until last weekend. Then, i decided to download the first to see if i would like it. 8 days later, i finished Brotherhood (with the previous 2 ass well) and now i'm playing Revelations (i hate it, so im taking a real break ffs). With the third game, I'd also love to see a female character for a change (at least someone really young) and some good advancements in gameplay. I damn hope Ubisoft doesn't screw with us ;)
EPIC. I hope it takes place sometime in 1800s n i need to buy Revelations it looks awesome
i think it is between the civil war!
@forsites shut up
lovin it
OMG YES!
Hmm Ubisoft won't probably use a new engine because creating a new assassins creed game in a year won't be possible with a new engine, but I do hope that the next assassin's creed protagonist would be a woman :P don't know why but I want that :P
Otherwise known as Assasin's Creed 5.
I've played almost all of the Assassin's Creed games but when my friend asked me what exactly is the creed of the Assassins, I couldn't answer. I just told him, they're looking for an apple. Hehe. So embarassing. LOL!
I'll wait for the Wii U version thank you very much
this is suppost to be the last one off the series the protagonist obviously should be desmond!wth?whats the doubt?desmond already know where the temples are...play revelations
It'd be nice to play as a female, a test subject perhaps, following her journey from normal to crazy like Sub 16. If I'm going to be staring at a characters butt for an extended period I'd rather it be female. That's always been my preference, but I still play mostly 3rd person even if I am not given the choice.
people always say "bring MAJOR changes to the game" well what "changes" do people exactly want? i'm not saying that the AC series doesn't need changes......but bringing major changes without upsetting the feel of the series is very hard.....there's never a 100% guarantee that the changes made will be appreciated by the fans, that's why devs hesitate to make major changes to game series these days
Assassin's creed is like ice cream ......its really good at first, but when someone starts feeding it to you all the time you just get sick of it. Not saying i'm sick yet, just saying they need to cool down with the annual releases...i barely finished brotherhood an i just started revelations....oh yeah and they really need a new engine, this one's starting to show its age
I've only played the 1st one, and haven't planned on trying out any of the other ones. Even though I'm probably not gonna get it, I still have high hopes for AC3. :)
Wow I missed this news for the release date for this game and I have been following this game since last year when they announced it, ah well this is the AC that I have been really waiting for which is AC3 so I hope it's really good.
I used to love the series to death, but then they started to just release a new title every single year. I still support it, but I apologize I must be a little skeptical seeing as the games haven't really seen any MAJOR changes since ACII. I just hope that this is the final entry, not as a hater, but I enjoy a good story and I feel it kills a good story when it goes on for too long. AC isn't in that area yet but all in all I really don't want to see them go in that area.
I've seen a small preveiw of it and it looks epic! :D But will there be some Easter Eggs because the only other game I remember with good Easter Eggs is Halo 3?
I actually like this series.
Ezio will be too old for assassins creed 3 so i say were gona play with his son maybe :D

w me revelations was AWESOME its just that brotherhood was better lets wish assassins creed 3 beats both
wow!!
People you guy's are forgetting that acb and acr are all part of the same game ac2. they were intended to be dlc but since people where asking for multiplayer the made them game's. now have said that did each game bring anything new to the table.-yes- was it mayor -no- did it work-some of it-. i had fun with all 3 chapters of ezio's story, now i'm hoping they went all out on ac3 cause we all know that ubisoft can deliver good game's
Wow, they said the game has been in development for three years! Damn.....this looks like it is going to have a lot of work and money put into it, maybe it will feel different from other games. I guess I'll be picking up Revelations this summer.
Hopefully they are using a new engine for this one......
@singhellotaku No, remember they always planned on making Assassins Creed a trilogy. So this 3rd one will most likely be the last full title. Beyond this if they return to Assassins Creed it will be either in spinoff or expansion packs. I hope the multiplayer returns and that they allow you to install it on your hard drive from the get go.
neato, after this you really need to take a year or two off though
Hopefully this one has alot more depth than the last two and is the same giant lep forward that AC2 was from AC1. Brotherhood and Revelations were just fillers, enjoyable nonetheless, but seemed more like game built to primarily test new game mechanics and play styles like the multiplayer to see how the community reacts. The story is the only reason I have stuck to AC for so long, don't stuff it up Ubisoft!
Ahh, another Assassins CoD...err I mean Creed. This isn't my kind of game but I'm not going to trash the series...just comment that they seem to be really milking the series. But hey, if people are buying enough to make it profitable, then great for everyone! What I wouldn't give for a yearly Dark Souls/Demon Soul's sequel. If only....
According to what I've read, they've been working on Assassin's Creed III for the past few years now. It's going to be set in the American revolution. Ubi is saying it will be bigger and better than then 1 and 2. Everyone needs to stop dissing the series. If you don't like the series anymore, don't buy the games. I have loved all of the games, despite that they have all had their share of weird glitches. I love how the story has progressed throughout the series.
They clearly haven't been paying attention to the reception of the previous installments.
My advise to everyone, dont buy it!! we saw what happened in ACB and ACR, the game is getting worse every time and full of bugs and glitches that Ubi didnt and wont fix, especially in MP. the only thing they care about is releasing DLCs and get money. I hardly play ACR MP because its totally broken and gameplay changes suck too much, so AC3 MP while ACR MP broken and unplayable?!?! doesnt make sense at all @GBASWFan, NO, most of ppl will not buy it unless they are kids and crying out loud for playing it.
I dont care how soon a game is released. As long as it is good, then it doesn't matter. Most of the people who complain will buy the game anyway.
i will be a little behind but im looking forward to a new assasins creed and a different setting with a different feel...japan anyone?
