The title track for Rosie Flores’ upcoming album Working Girl’s Guitar came about as naturally as possible. Flores sold one of her well used guitars to another musician in Austin. The next day, that musician hit her up with the song. He claimed he didn’t write it—the guitar did.

The Child of Lov is shrouded in mystery. Internet lore tells us that The Child of Lov was discovered in Georgia, by Trey Reames, the guy responsible for bringing Cee Lo together with Danger Mouse to eventually create Gnarls Barkley. According to legend, somewhere along the way, DOOM and Damon Albern (Blur, Gorillaz) got involved. When these powers of genius combined, a white dwarf burnt bright in the Eastern sky before exploding and showering the Earth with funkafied stardust, imparting an infinite groove upon all who touched it.

The best things in life aren’t over planned; they’re not scheduled and there is no agenda. They’re not even last minute decisions. He’s played and worked with everyone from the Fixx to Al Green, and Red Hot Chili Peppers too. He even co-wrote Amy Grant’s mega hit “Every Heartbeat.” Suffice it to say, that’s a pretty broad range of experience.

Patterson Hood accidentally wrote an album. He didn’t want to, and wasn’t trying to, but sometimes the songs just come out. Fronting Drive-by Truckers has kept Patterson busy, releasing nine studio albums, two live albums, two collection albums, and two collaboration albums. Plus he's released two previous solo records—not to mention the thousands and thousands of tour dates over the past decade. Patterson was just looking for some time off, and the only plan he had was to not make an album.

You probably know Will Johnson as the frontman for Centro-matic and South San Gabriel. If for some odd reason stemming from a giant artistic and emotional hole in your soul, that doesn’t ring a bell, you may know him as the fifth Monster of Folk or from his contributions to New Multitudes, the collection of previously unrecorded Woody Guthrie songs by Jim James, Jay Farrar, Anders Parker, and Will.
