Uncharted 3 getting co-op survival mode
Naughty Dog reveals new game type for last year's adventure title on the way in March; new map pack out now.
Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception will welcome a new game mode in March, the developer has announced. The co-op Shade Survival game type for the adventure title will debut as downloadable content next month.
Outside of publishing the DLC's first screenshot (at right), Naughty Dog did not share further information regarding the content, save for calling it "fiery."
Gamers won't have to wait until March to get their hands on new content for Uncharted 3, however. The Flashback Map Pack 2 was released today on the PlayStation Network as a free download for Fortune Hunters' Club members, or $10 otherwise. That content includes four multiplayer maps from previous Uncharted games sporting new lighting effects, as well as other visual updates.
The co-op Shade Survival mode will also be a free download for members of the Fortune Hunters' Club, a pre-purchase system that gives players all Uncharted 3 DLC at a discounted rate.
This would be a better option and i would like to appreciate the effort that is taken to commence this...
CHEA! Co-op survival for Drake could be fun! Looking forward to purchasing a ps3 again and buying the trilogy. Uncharted 2 was amazing!
top!
This game has not received much love from me. I bought it for my wife and I to play online with her aunts and brother, but I have serious issues with the game taking longer than I have to live to load, so I don't play it much really. With that being said I'm going to be hard pressed to get interested in all these recent add ons, unless I can somehow get this game running better. The game itself I love though, I just don't have the patience to get it going.jnerd84.blogspot
good
Couldnt get myself tickets to the premiere of The Dark Knight Rises. What I have got myself is the dark knight rises limited edition Nokia Lumia 800. It is on!! :D https://www.facebook.com/NokiaIndia/app_364006876992346
I wish it were free for everyone.
I'm not sure if Multiplayer on Uncharted is a good idea
good
why
hah
Love all UC played them all more than once. Seriously do not like multiplayer and will never take part. Love to lay single, take my time and enjoy all the games incluidng trying to find all treasures.
I know this will get hate, but UC3...not as good as UC2. I love UC2 and think it is my favorite game of this generation. But something was off on UC3, parts of it were brilliant, but things just were out of place. The ship graveyard was cool, but they should have saved it for another game. Not enough time spent in the desert IMO. Also, i read that the guy doing the motion capture/voice work for Cutter got a role in the Hobbit and had to leave, and that originally they meant for Cutter to be with Drake and Sully at the end...that would have been great. Also, Marlow should have been more present. Still dont misunderstand me, I love UC...think the multiplayer is severely underrated, and will be buying the next console UC whenever it may be (hoping they hold off and make it a ps4 title maybe for the second year of the ps4 or first if ps4 isnt out till 2014).
I'd literally buy anything from Naughty Dog. I respect this studio and their work. It's like gamers making games for gamers.
Finally ND released 4 brand new maps today, made FHC worth it.
Love the Uncharted series, every game of this type deserves a GOOD survival mode, not tacked on.
@Addizzle i bought it and the new maps are still fun but new pics of NEW MAPS are out
Love the Uncharted series. Hate prepay season passes for DLC and refuse to buy them. Why? Because throwback maps are imminent. I already bought these maps. Because I bought Uncharted 2 and its DLC.
Lordcrabfood your comments is trash nuff said go back and play some hello kitty games leave this epic series out of ur trashy mouth thank you bye bye
uncharted is a complete package for 60 bucks but if i would have known the fortune hunter club would be for remakes of uc2 maps prob wouldnt have purchased the dlc. is this mode hard?
no not joking at all, I found the game very boring
@Lordcrabfood Your joking, right?
Just gotta say a few words, "ahem cough, cough" UNCHARTED 3 IS EPIC!
Been playing ME3 horde and Gears is easily the best horde game out there.
Good cause the multi-player stinks. Bad matchmaking and net code.
@metalkid9 Really have no idea what you are trying to say, try being less ambiguous. My comment still stands, The story is so cliched and the gameplay so predictable.
@Lordcrabfood, You must have skipped the MW3 section. The only logical explanation to your comment.
Still will not be buying this boring and predictable game. How this game ever sold more then 100 copies is a mystery to me.

@AvatarMan96 i'm pretty sure those are the gjinn's that took over soliders that appear in a level during uncharted 3......so calm down
@BryanParksSuper Developers have deadlines they must meet and it happens that more often than not, things they planned to add end up getting cut. They just use the DLC method to add the cut stuff later, albeit by charging us extra due to having to pay the programmers extra + plain greed. Yes, DLC has gotten ridiculous and more often than not we're getting charged way too much for such content, but as long as this still works for them, we're stuck with it.
Are those enemies on fire....and holding lightsabers? Why, Naughty Dog? WHY?!?!
@vengefulwilberg Survival mode, co op or otherwise has been around MUCH longer than Gears lol Just saying. Heck even Mechwarrior 3 way back had it.
I got UC3 Free when I bought my 320GB PS3. This mode and old maps shoulda been included on the disc. Yeah let's pull a Activision from MW2 and release old maps. Naughty Dog fails so hard. I hardly even play UC3 anyway. There are better games out there than UC Franchise.
$10 for DLC are serious Naughty Dog? Screw you ND.
I haven't bought any UC3 DLC cause there just old maps from UC2. ND has handled there DLC poorly. We want new maps not old maps. MW2 did this and I didn't even purchase that DLC.
Wonder if it will involve any of us using our on-screen avatar to jump on a huge bandwagon... Hmm...
This is both new AND original. Props to Naughty for coming up with something fresh and exciting!

Also, a new map pack? NEW? :|
"That content includes four multiplayer maps from previous Uncharted games sporting new lighting effects, as well as other visual updates."
New, huh?
:|
So some slight visual updates to old content suddenly makes it count as new content now? Apparently so.
@csofran2 What I mean is that they probably had this planned for a while (before they released U3) so they could have put it in the disc. Straight after U3 they started working on dlc for U3. That is what annoys me. I'll buy it but I wish they included everything on the disc (that goes for every other game as well).
Message to those who complain even though I feel your pain: If all this extra stuff did end up coming with the disc then I can bet people would be complaining about the delayed release date that would come as a result.
@Ratchet8568 Yea, getting new content continually updated that wouldn't otherwise be included sure does suck...
Gears of War 2 created a monster. Every single shooter in the world includes a survival mode now. FOR THE HORDE! Before you PS3 fanboys go crazy I will let you know I have an PS3 too.
I miss the days when you bought the game and that was it. You didn't have to buy anything else, it was all on the disc.
I'm so happy I decided to get the Fortune Hunter's pack, I'm getting way more goodness then I thought I would!!!!! And NO the game is not incomplete in any way. It's amazing just as it is outside the box without the dlc, but if you got that also... Heaven!!!!
Naughty Dog continues to support the game, expanding it and extending the time gamers can get out of it by offering , additional content, and half these comments are over-entitled whiners. Its depressing. PC games have had expansions, map packs and all sorts of stuff like this for many years, now we have DLC on console games, and suddenly it's a consumer rights issue; like somehow the game you purchased is not complete if the devs offer additional content. What a load of spoiled, greedy, over-entitled crap, typical of children who have no understanding of the gaming industry or business in general. U3 came out like 5 months ago. You should be grateful Naughty Dog are still supporting the game and offering DLC for it. If you don't want it, don't buy it. Just, for the love of all things sane, shut up about DLC. It doesn't make your game incomplete.
Fortune Hunters doesn't make it discounted, it makes it free!
i smell a komplete/goty edition to be released soon
Uncharted 3 SP campaign was an utter disappointment all around. The co-op was cool though.
just make a UC3: Complete already and I'll go out and buy that new or whatever else you'd have me do. I'm not paying severance on a game I already bought, damn it
"...with new lightning effects..." Even when you know just the slightest bit about programming, calibrating the Gamma Scale is one of the biggest lazyjobs ever...and then they want to be payd for that? Woah ND.... :/
