The IPL Elites and IPL Challengers Circuits

We’re proud to announce the creation of a new tournament structure, The IPL Elites and the IPL Challengers. This tournaments’ intention is to set up a system that feeds into future IPL events, rather than having direct qualifiers. Each cycle of the tournament should last around 3 weeks. Here are the details:

IPL Elites
- 16 Team Single Elimination
- Matches are Bo3 with the finals being Bo5
- $3000 Prize pool
- 1st – $2000
- 2nd – $700
- 3rd – 300
- Top 8 teams will remain in IPL Elites for the next cycle
- Bottom 8 teams will be moved down to the IPL Challengers

IPL Challengers
- 32 Team Single Elimination
- 8 Teams that were brought down from Elites
- 24 team signups
- Teams will be given preference based on IPL Power Ranking (found at IGN.com/ipl).
- Top 8 teams will be seeded into the IPL Elites bracket.
- Bottom 16 teams will have to skip one cycle of the IPL Challengers.

Looking beyond IPL5
- Invites for events beyond IPL5 will be based on the IPL Power Rankings.
- IPL Power Rankings are strongly influenced by a team’s performance in these circuits.
