  • Summary: Lollipop Chainsaw is the un-deadly story of sweet, killer zombie-slayer Juliet Starling and her mission to uncover the root of a zombie outbreak. Juliet must balance the drama of high school while carrying out her zombie-hunting lineage. Players hone their cheerleading acrobatics and chainsaw skills to string together lethal combo moves, taking out scores of the undead. The game was developed by GRASSHOPPER MANUFACTURE, led by game develop Goichi Suda (aka SUDA 51) and featuring the music of the Akira Yamaoka. In addition, Hollywood director and writer James Gunn (Super, Slither, Dawn of the Dead, Tromeo and Juliet) has brought his cult humor and edgy storytelling to Lollipop Chainsaw’s script. Expand

Amidst an important layer of absurdity brought to you by the likes of Suda51, James Gunn, and Jimmy Urine, Lollipop Chainsaw has a lot in common with the delightful 8-bit games of my youth.

Short, sweet and one of its kind, Lollipop loses its great flavour faster than cheap bubblegum. [Sept 2012, p.98]

Lollipop Chainsaw delivers a solid zombie action experience, but the creative humorous aha reaction fails to appear. Despite nice boss designs and a somewhat new take on the whole zombie thing, the game falls short of expectations.

  1. this game is so good so funny gory too with alot of swearing and skimpy outfit i love it she next larry croft only she teenage cheerleader............................................................................ Expand
  2. Lollipop Chainsaw is full of humour, personality and style. I love how over the top the game play is and how outrageous the dialogue is throughout. Juliet is the female protagonist, she is literally a walking stereotype of the popular cheerleader that is fun-loving and youthful and its clear that the developers use this to their advantage which often makes for hilarious scenes. The game is effectively a parody and full of satire to the this cheerleader ideal concept and the idea of the game is fantastic. The game play however can be slightly repetitive but visually it is always full of excitement as Juliet destroys her zombie enemies with bursts of pink hearts and rainbows. Expand
  3. It's a pretty descent game; however the controls were delayed, but on the plus side the combo moves were pretty cool. The cut-scenes are amusing and Nick's dialogue is really funny. The premise is awesome and overall it's a pretty fun game, but for me there was no real replay value. In closing I feel this game serves best as a rental only. It's a really short campaign and has delayed controls, but it's a lot fun to play and the soundtrack is pretty cool as well Expand
