Twenty-two year-old Shania (Lenora Crichlow) seems like a regular girl from a London council estate, but she possesses the raw talent as a sprinter that sets her apart from other girls.

Thanks to her amateur coach Brian (Phil Davis), she qualifies for the World Championship and is asked to join the relay team by coach Tommy Southern (Noel Clarke). Among her new teammates are heralded sprinter Trix (Lorraine Burroughs), mohawked Sarah (Dominique Tipper), man-crazy Belle (Lashana Lynch) and golden girl Lisa (Lily James). Also thrown into the volatile mix is Carl (Bradley James) their attractive team physiotherapist with whom Shania strike up an instant friendship.

Coming from two different worlds, Shania soon clashes with Lisa, whose father (Rupert Graves) star sprinter himself, and now a major player in the GB squad selection.  As the FAST GIRLS strive to qualify for the World Championship, they battle through adversity and rivalry on their dramatic, heart-warming and inspirational journey.

The official Being Human blog has hinted that fans should “expect big things” from the upcoming series.

Phil Davis (Silk, Whitechapel) has been cast in the upcoming fifth series of Being Human as a character called Captain Hatch.

Billed as “a high concept thriller for fans of Inception and The Adjustment Bureau”, Sleepwalkers is the debut novel from Being Human writer Tom Grieves.

Set to be the feel-good film of the summer, Fast Girls tracks the rollercoaster journey of a British female sprint relay team and stars a trio of Britain’s hottest young stars: Lenora Crichlow (Being Human), Lily James (Wrath of the Titans) and Bradley James (Merlin).

Directed by award-winning young filmmaker Regan Hall (3 Hours), Fast Girls is co-scripted by Noel Clarke (Adulthood), Jay Basu and Roy Williams. Clarke also heads the strong supporting cast line-up of BAFTA nominee Phil Davis (Vera Drake), Rupert Graves (Sherlock) and newcomers Lashana Lynch, Dominique Tipper and Hannah Frankson.

When sassy streetwise Shania (Lenora Crichlow) meets ambitious, middle class Lisa (Lily James), their two worlds collide on the athletics track with explosive results. As the Fast Girls strive to qualify for a major world athletics championship, they battle adversity and rivalry on their dramatic, heartwarming and inspirational journey.

The second series of Sky Living's supernatural drama Bedlam sees EastEnders actress Lacey Turner take up residency at the bedevilled Bedlam Heights.

Already nicknamed ‘Sprint it like Beckham’ in some quarters, this is one British feel-good film we can all rally around even if we don’t do well in the Olympics this summer.
