Minecraft Xbox 360 skin pack 3: new screenshots revealed

Mojang has very kindly sent over some exclusive screenshots of the latest Minecraft Xbox 360 skin pack, which adds a huge number of new characters based on sources as diverse as Left 4 Dead 2, Portal, OXM favourite Awesomenauts and, er Minecraft's own inhabitants.

The full list of cameos is alarmingly extensive, as you can see in the attached screenshots. As well as Gordon Freeman and chums, there's Chell and the two robots from Portal; an indie lineup including Bit.trip, Gunstringer and Dishwasher: Dead Samurai; the cast of Left 4 Dead 2 and some Xbox heroes including Joe Danger and Conker and what looks suspiciously like Rambo. There's also one based on Slam Bolt Scrappers, which we're taking to mean that Slam Bolt Scrappers is coming to Xbox 360 following its debut on PSN.

If you'd rather forsake such branding and keep your Xbox 360 a place of Minecraft purity, there are also some "generic" skins more in keeping with the Robinson Crusoe vibe of rebuilding civilisation on a distant island, and some slightly weirder ones which enable you to be a zombie or a humanoid version of a Minecraft cow. Each to their own. The pack is out on Friday, and you'll be able to get it from Xbox Live marketplace.

Of course, what we're all still waiting for is Minecraft update 1.8.2, which adds some excellent new features but still has no Xbox 360 release date. In the meantime, why not consider the OXM World of the Week?
