Jennifer Ellison has claimed that she won't skate on this weekend's Dancing on Ice if her pro partner Daniel Whiston fails fitness tests.

Whiston is suffering from a hamstring injury and Ellison said that she wouldn't be willing to perform with a different pro skater if a last-minute switch was required.

"For all those asking, if Dan can't skate on Sunday then I won't be," the former Brookside actress said on Twitter. "So I'm afraid I may be hanging up my boots before it's even begun."

Ellison revealed at a photocall yesterday that she was originally supposed to skate in the launch show with Whiston, but due to his injury they were switched to the second week of the competition.

However, Ellison, who described her recent training for the reality series as "the week from hell", backed the show's physio Sharon to have Whiston prepared for Sunday night.

Whiston is the latest star to be injured on the show, which has also seen Sylvain Longchambon, Heidi Range and Laila Morse struggling with injuries, while Chesney Hawkes was forced to pull out after a fall on the ice.

Dancing on Ice continues this Sunday (January 15) on ITV1.
