About Digital Spy and the Digital Spy team

Digital Spy was founded in 2001, combining a network of sites about digital TV, broadcasting and programming into a new destination for news and conversation about entertainment, technology and the media.

Now in its 12th year of operation, Digital Spy serves over 120 million pages to more than 12.5 million people every month (Google Analytics), and is the UK's pre-eminent home of news and discussion about entertainment of every kind. Digital Spy operates editions in five territories and is executing an ambitious international rollout.

Our discussion forums have more than 445,000 registered users and 57.3 million posts, and together are amongst the world's busiest English-language social venues for entertainment and technology.

Digital Spy's world headquarters are in London at the offices of our parent company, Hearst Magazines UK, with an office in New York City and team members based across the UK, United States, and Australia.

Management Team

David Moynihan
David Moynihan (@DavidMoynihan)
Editor

David manages the editorial team to bring 14 million monthly users over 200 news stories every day. Career highlights so far include interviewing Charlize Theron and being presented an award by Ronnie Corbett, whose fingers were the size of raisins.

James Welsh
James Welsh (@James_Welsh)
Co-founder / Digital Technology Director, Hearst Magazines UK

A DS original, James manages the business from our office in New York City and is also a member of Hearst Magazines UK's digital management team. James lives in Connecticut and divides his time between New York and London.

Alex Fletcher
Deputy Editor

Alex has worked at Digital Spy since 2007 when he began by writing stories about the often forgotten Big Brother romance between Ziggy and Chanelle. He has managed to recover from that ordeal and is now Deputy Editor and spends most of his days ruling with an iron fist over the TV section. Believing that is possible to love Mad Men and The X Factor in equal measure, he mixes trash and class on a day-to-day basis. Follow @dsrealitybites

Section Editors

Daniel Kilkelly
Soaps Editor

Daniel is responsible for editing the soaps section on DS, which includes writing news articles, compiling spoilers, liaising with press offices and conducting interviews. He also writes the Soap Scoop blog. He loves all the soapland universes but, if forced to choose, his heart belongs to Neighbours.

Simon Reynolds (@simonreyn)
Movies Editor

Simon joined DS in February 2008. As the movies editor, he can often be found attending screenings at the cinemas of WC2 or stalking celebrities at rainy premieres in Leicester Square. His fave films are Back to the Future, Being There and Dead Man's Shoes.

Matthew Reynolds (@Crazyreyn)
Gaming Editor

Matthew produces content for the gaming section, manages the Level Up blog and attends various gaming events. His favourite game of all time is Metal Gear Solid, and he longingly awaits for Shenmue to make a comeback. He's an athletic chap and ran the 2010 London Marathon in support of Save the Rhino.

Mayer Nissim (@mayernissim)
News Editor

Mayer joined DS in January 2009 as a Big Brother reporter before becoming an entertainment reporter later that month. In April 2012 he became the site's news editor. He writes news, reviews and interviews and also does a spot of sub-editing when nagged. In his free time, he listens to pop music from the '50s-'10s.

Robert Copsey (@RobCopsey)
Music Editor

Rob joined the team in March 2010 and produces music news, interviews and reviews. In August 2011, he became the site's new music editor. At 6'4", he is by far the tallest member of the DS team. His favourite female artist is Michelle Branch and he also enjoys Cougar Town.

Sub-Editors

Adam Silverstein
Chief Sub-Editor

Adam joined DS in April 2009 as a news sub-editor before his ascent to his current position in February 2011. He subs copy and keeps the site operational from the office. A huge fan of indie rock, his fave bands include Coldplay and Death Cab for Cutie. He also thinks Seinfeld is the greatest TV show ever made.

Beth Hilton
News Sub-Editor

Beth joined DS from the Press Association in June 2007 as a Big Brother reporter and now works as a news sub-editor, editing and approving news stories during the daytime on weekdays. Her fave films are Jaws, Field of Dreams and anything horror-related.

Amy Bell
News Sub-Editor

Amy joined the DS team in February 2009 as a news sub-editor, working weekend evenings. When she grows up, she wants to be like the grumbling, gambling, gossiping, gin-drinking legend that is was Blanche from Corrie.

Christian Tobin
News Sub-Editor

Christian lives in London with two kittens. His proudest moment was a starring role in St. Trinian's 2 as Audience Member #139 and if he could bring back any TV show it would be Channel 5's criminally underloved The Mole. He says the best thing about working for DS is that he can keep tabs on Kyle Sandilands - who's less of a hero, more of a spiritual leader.

Kate Goodacre
News Sub-Editor

Kate joined Digital Spy in February 2011 and is the site's resident night owl, often working to the strains of Pages From Ceefax until its untimely demise. When she's not watching motor racing or indulging in music from almost any genre, she can be found roaming the Northern countryside, camera in hand, looking for the way out.

Greg Laing
Greg Laing
News Sub-Editor

Greg joined DS in February 2012 to take on the weekend daytime sub-editing shift. After warming up with a 5-year legal career, he is now happily living in the world of entertainment journalism.

Daniel joined DS in June 2010 as a Big Brother reporter, during which time he developed an inexplicable aversion to moaning Australians. After an extended stint freelancing on weekends, in May 2012 he was promoted to a full-time entertainment reporter. He speaks almost entirely in Friends quotes.

Emma Dibdin
Emma Dibdin (@emmdib)
Entertainment Reporter

Emma joined DS in March 2012 as a freelance entertainment reporter before being promoted to full-time two months later in a movies-focused position. Her obsession with Breaking Bad and Sherlock borders on the psychologically unhealthy, and she also quite fancies Rimmer from Red Dwarf.
