Forza Horizon: Microsoft throws Paris-to-UK supercar race, 10 tickets up for grabs

10 seriously meaty motors, 1000 km, six challenges

One of my favourite films is the Great Race, a hilarious automotive epic dedicated to Laurel and Hardy which stars Jack Lemmon, aka the dastardly Professor Fate, and Tony Curtis, aka the squeaky-clean Great Leslie. It's the best Christmas watch in the whole wide world, and Forza Horizon's equally mammoth Escape The Grid event will be nothing like it. Still, you can't argue with hot pink and dubstep.

#EscapeTheGrid is a 1000 km race from Paris to the Top Gear LIVE track in Birmingham, featuring 10 obscenely gorgeous supercars from the game itself - cars like the Mercedes Benz C63, the Audi R8 and the BMW M5. It begins 23rd October - Horizon releases on the 26th - and spans four days, four events and six challenges.

We'll have a man on the scene, inspecting the motors and writing things about them in tones of gasoline-slicked hysteria. You can join him, if you like - enter your details here for a chance to watch the racers cross the finishing line.

In addition, there will be a Forza Horizon Festival at London's Fabric venue on 25th October. You can win tickets to that too - just fire up the Forza Horizon #EscapeTheGrid landing page.

Our Forza Horizon review went live earlier, billing the game "a thoroughly excellent collection of driving experiences with an almost MMO-like seductiveness". Wipe your chin, Jonty. Are you buying a copy?
