  • Summary: In 1950's Los Angeles, a detective hides in a hotel, hoping to escape an assassin hot on his tail. As the night progresses, he connects with the patrons of the hotel and slowly the reason behind his predicament becomes clear.

    The film's weakest link is Rufus Sewell's rumpled gumshoe, inarticulate and mumbling to the point of madness.

    Gutierrez bathes in moodiness while remaining unconcerned with anything so pedestrian as dramatic cohesion.

    It's hard to know whether Sebastian Gutierrez is imitating or satirizing the hard-boiled noirs of Hollywood's past, but either way it feels like a botched attempt.
