Gearbox has unveiled the first piece of Borderlands 2 campaign DLC, a rib-tickling affair titled Captain Scarlett and her Pirate's Booty. Avast! Arrr! MUST RESIST THE PIRATE JOKES. It's down for release on 16th October, and according to the Associated Press, takes place in a bandit-filled shanty town called Oasis.
The obvious reference point for Oasis is Tatooine, home of that slovenly old landlubber Jabba the Hutt. Gearbox appears to have pinched a few of Jabba's rides, which is definitely the right way to have somebody pop a cap in your candy ass. Oh no! In our desperation to avoid pirate jokes, we've run aground on the reefs of gangsta slang!
The new campaign features the new Sand Worm enemies, and a new currency known as seraph crystals. Gearbox prez Randy Pitchford says it's designed to appeal to both players who've finished the campaign and those who are still trundling through.
We've swiped a couple of HD images from AGB. Feast your eyes, and try not to think anything involving either pieces of eight or pieces of ass.

On a side note: I hope some the pirates will have beards, or better yet, give Axton a pirate hat/beard combo. I would likely be in heaven.
