Borderlands 2 DLC Mechromancer hits Xbox Live today

Free if you preordered, 800 MP if you didn't

Borderlands 2's Mechromancer DLC pack hits Xbox Live today, a whole week ahead of schedule. It unlocks a new class, the aforesaid Mechromancer, who is mistress of robots and totally doesn't owe her genesis to the conviction that girls are rubbish at videogames.

The Mechromancer will be available free to those who preordered Borderlands 2 - those who snapped the game up on launch day or later must pay 800 MP for the privilege. If Gearbox's Randy Pitchford is to be believed, it could be the first of many Borderlands 2 DLC classes.

According to rumours, a future Borderlands 2 DLC pack will feature Star Warsy vehicles and 10 additional hours of gameplay. The word "Torgue" has been tossed around in connection with the project.

  1. That'll please the Girlfriend, although she's just had her hair cut and doesn't look as much like Gaige anymore.

  2. She had ginger pig-tails? Mad as a box of frogs says I. Is this free only for pre-orders then? I thought it was on new copies.

Red rather than ginger but yeah. Now it's bright pink and looks sort of like the little girl in Lazy Town. And yes she is as mad as a box of frogs.

  6. The key to getting new classes like this right is balance and variety. It would be great for the classes to all be really different rather than just combinations or half way houses of several, plus that way it adds real benefit to having a variety of skills in your party, at the moment having a party of all four classes proves the most adaptable to all situations.
