Why wouldn't you have character unlockables??? Thats soo lame, that means I have no reason to play and try to unlock anything if its already given to me at the start! Jesus, didnt you guys learn anything from any game out there? Unlocking is why we play games to begin with! And that means we're not going to be surprised with any new characters at all! OMFG....well you guys better have some good DLC characters coming out otherwise, this game will be a disaster...

All I wanted was Spyro, Crash and Lara. Come on. None of the characters on the roster as of now interest me, except Sweet Tooth.

Ddr714 heh biggest surprise to me was big daddy since every other character has had some ps exclusivity at some point and most still are exclusive but he never was.

Maybe it's because I don't play Infamous, but I think it's absolute garbage that two characters were wasted on Cole and Evil Cole. The rest of the roster is completely diverse and then two characters from Infamous? Oh, and all the comments about DLC leeching: I completely agree
I dont mind the 20 characters but it sucks that we might have to pay extra to use crash.
abnergoinbig I'm sure Sony anticipated this. When Crash is released via DLC, Sony will pat themselves on the back and watch as the $$$ rolls in.

If this is under the common $70 release price tag (way under) then I just might pick this up. I don't have a Wii and when I venture to a friend's room to play Brawl, it takes me some time to get back into the Wii/Gamecube-style control. Yes, this may be similar to the Smash Bros. franchise..., but why do they get to have all of the fun? Optimism leads to more fun gameplay anyway.
This is just like when Nintendo had Mario dominating the platformer so Sega introduced Sonic to the world. Then the Amiga had Zool. There will always be imitators trying to have a slice of the pie. Also I'm sure Sony thought Smash Bro's was a fun game so they thought "lets treat our fans to the same kinda of fun with our characters". The game almost looks identical. I mean the speed is the same. The hit flashs are pretty similar. Characters can double jump back to safety or use one of their unique moves to try and reach a ledge to safety. Even how the camera behaves is the same. Pretty much all these mechanics are taken from Smash Bro's. Nintendo got it right the first time. Why would Sony do something different and make it worse? These are proven mechanics that work in this genre. Also Fifa and PES are damn near identical in appearance and mechanics. Whos ripping off who there?
dribblesbarbax glad to see more people get it. This type of game is just not possible without using a similar formula. And honestly it works really well with this game.

supersmash brothers going to completely destroy this game, there is no similiar brawler that can match smash brothers thats a fact!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

snake8877 I'm not a fanboy. I hate this kind of games. They are great for kids, but I'm not that much of a game nerd to play these games which I find rather silly.
xolivierx snake8877 Oh my god dude. Smash bros is the best gama to play wen you're old. Because it's so dang funny to play when you're wasted with you're friends. lol. I was getting yelled at last weekend for continuously using the baseball bat by a friend right before he started a slurred speech about the universe.

PetJel While I wouldn't mind seeing Tomba and Spyro in there, I'm not into having more 3rd party characters that aren't solely Sony icons. I could tolerate Klonoa, because I'm very fond of the series (slight bias), but Gex, for example, had its roots and best days on the 3DO. I'm hopeful they never include Cloud, Sephiroth or any other Final Fantasy characters because I'd get sick of seeing them in EVERY online match. More licensed characters also mean more cost to Sony = means if they happen they'll be paid DLC.

But Activision have rebranded Spyro to focus on younger audience, and I wonder if they would license their new golden egg to Sony on easy terms.

Classic Dante is apparently available as an alternate costume, or so I've heard. Its not hard to see why Capcom would want their new Dante shown first for marketing purposes.
