October begins and with it that no doubt means the beginning of a busy period in gaming for us all.

To set things in motion, Capcom’s Resident Evil 6 headlines this week’s ensemble. Return to the series for a new viral outbreak with Leon, Chris and new guy Jake Muller.

If infected people aren’t your thing then maybe some intense fighting in Dead or Alive 5 will do the trick. With a returning cast of fan favourites joined by new faces Rig and Mila, have fun smashing your opponent off a snowy cliff or into a leaping tiger. Fun!

Also releasing today, and included for PS Plus subscribers is Sega’s Hell Yeah! Wrath of the Dead Rabbit. If the title hasn’t piqued your interest then how about the story – you are Ash, a devil rabbit who’s private photos have been leaked causing you to get angry. Very angry!

Other titles releasing this week include PSOne Import Tomba!, along with more Sega goodness – Nights intro Dreams now for PS3.

Enjoy this week’s update. Check back next week for more.

PlayStation Plus: Your October Content

Countries: , , , ,

With Autumn well and truly upon us, what better way to shrug off the gathering gloom than by looking forward to a great month of PlayStation Plus content? And, I hope you agree, it is indeed something of a whopper, with two massive blockbuster games coming to your Instant Game Collection, along with a weird and wonderful PSN platformer from Sega.

First things first, as of tomorrow Plus members get free access to Hell Yeah! Wrath of Dead Rabbit. As should be made evident by the trailer below, it’s an absolutely insane side-scroller that sees you step into the shoes of a demonic rabbit hell-bent on vengeance after pictures of him in the shower make it onto the internet. It’s been picking up some great reviews  – make sure you check it out.

‘Heads-Up’ Game Store Update 26th September 2012

Countries: , , , ,

Seems like this will be a busy week for gamers, for sure! We have FIFA 13, Tokyo Jungle and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker HD, all arriving this week! And that’s just some of this week’s picks.

Liberty City is calling! Grand Theft Auto III, the revolutionary open-world epic from Rockstar Games that set players loose as a small-time criminal at the bottom of the food chain, is available from the PlayStation Store from this week. Originally released in 2001 to universal acclaim, Grand Theft Auto III rewrote the possibilities for freedom and action in a living, breathing three dimensional metropolis where anything can happen – and probably will.

Elsewhere, Final Fantasy III releases on PSP this week. See where the series’ popular job system first appeared in an updated version of one of the earlier games in Square Enix’s much-loved RPG franchise.

Speaking of Final Fantasy, Final Fantasy XIII-2 DLC is on sale, too. See the store for the various DLC pieces and the discounts applied.

Oh, and a big shout out for Konami’s excellent New Little King’s Story, which arrives on Vita. Look out for more information on that here on the PlayStation Blog later this week.

PS Plus subscribers, this week you get some healthy discounts. Tokyo Jungle will have 20% bitten off for a two week period and you’ll receive a discounted DLC pack too. You also get Starhawk Campaign Mode at no cost and a variety of DLC and the soundtrack, also at no cost. What a treat, eh? Oh, and there’s Super Stardust Portable for PSP that is available at, once again, no cost! So, a busy gaming week with some nice bonuses to go around, with more PS Plus bonuses to come in the next few weeks.

Be sure to check PS Store for the latest updates on avatars, themes and DLC, but below is a large chunk of this week’s release schedule.

Vita owners! It’s time to take Sackboy on a new adventure in LittleBigPlanet PlayStation Vita.

A variety of titles head to PlayStation Store this week for PS3 including Borderlands 2, One Piece Pirate Warriors, Jet Set Radio and plenty more.

Today we also have two PSOne titles added into our library – Klonoa: Door to Phantomile and a Japanese Import titled Tall Unlimited.

I’m also told by Andy that Rock Band 1 and 2 DLC will be reduced by up to 50% today, too. There’s a lot of content so be sure to check PS Store for which tracks you’ve really wanted that may have been reduced.
