Holy Cross Orthodox Press
Holy Cross Orthodox Press engages in a ministry of publishing books, monographs and other literary works for general and academic audiences. Holy Cross Orthodox Press publishes works on topics of Orthodox theology, history, practice, spirituality and life. It also publishes bilingual liturgical books for the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America. The Press publishes The Greek Orthodox Theological Review for the Faculty of Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology. The earliest publications of the Press date back nearly to the founding of Holy Cross in 1937. From its modest beginnings, the Press has grown into a significant publisher of over 500 books chiefly in the disciplines of Orthodox spirituality, theology, patristics, liturgics, history, and culture. The Press has published books from well-known Orthodox authors as well as notable authors from other traditions. In recent years, the Press has also published numerous liturgical texts and a series of patristic texts newly translated into contemporary English. The publications of the Press, together with The Greek Orthodox Theological Review, have contributed to the advancement of Orthodox theological studies and the development of the Church not only in North America but also throughout the world.

Manuscript Submissions
The Editorial Committee of Holy Cross Orthodox Press meets regularly to review submissions for possible publication. Scholars appropriate to the topic of the work review manuscripts in a double blind process. This review process for a manuscript can take up to six months. If a work is accepted for publication, a publishing agreement will be reached and the work will be placed on the publication schedule.
To submit a manuscript for consideration to Holy Cross Orthodox Press, an author must provide the following:
- A letter of introduction, including a 100-200-word description of the book and a statement of the intended audience of the book.
- A current resume or curriculum vita.
- A chapter-by-chapter summary of the book.
- One sample chapter of the book.

NOTE: Given the wide variety of Greek fonts currently available, authors preparing manuscripts with words, passages, or citations in Greek must use either a Unicode font (such as Gentium) or LaserGreek (from Linguist’s Software) in their manuscripts. Authors will be expected to insure that manuscripts accepted for publication comply with this requirement. Authors whose manuscripts include words, passages, or citations from other non-Roman alphabets should consult with the Editor.
