12 badly overlooked Xbox 360 games that cost £10 or less

Impulse purchasing equals justice!

The weekend is almost upon us, a time of happiness and frolics, but our hearts are heavier than something I can't think of right now because I'm too tired to construct metaphors. All is darkness and depression, reader. It has been 72 hours since our last game of Halo 4. Matt is hungover, and for reasons that may never become clear, Log just made me pretend to be a newsagent. Also, the promo copies of Dishonored haven't arrived yet.

There's only one thing to do in this situation, one way of rediscovering the Way to the Light, and that's to bang on about all the games you lot haven't bought despite us telling you, repeatedly and in no uncertain terms, that they're worth buying. Fie upon thee, heretic! Look, here's a heavily paginated gallery of "buy this game" links. Don't make me come down there, etc. I WILL END YOU.

RAGE - £8.85

The usual chunky, hard-hitting gunplay from id Software, set in one of the developer's most memorable and artfully constructed realms. The multiplayer's a bit lacking and this "open world" isn't especially open, but if it's opulent sci-fi violence you're after, RAGE should satisfy.

  1. RIdge Racer-Unbounded, are you kidding me!!
Utterly terrible game, for instance the cars alwaysd seemed to be going through the gear changes even tho your speed was maxed out. :?
the gameplay tried to be like split/second, and it failed terribly. i was looking forward to it when it was released, needless to say, THANKYOU for rental companys. you saved me £40!!!!

  2. El Shaddai is a terrible game.

Morrisons across the road from me has Rayman Origins for 12 quid. - not under a 10er i know but better than El Shaddai at any price.

  3. RIdge Racer-Unbounded, are you kidding me!!

sorry to ADD to my point above but even OXM rated ridge racer a 4 out of 10 and the sub heading was (and i quote) 'PREPARED TO BE BORED RIGID'......

  4. Got a few of these already, I can't resist a bargain. Rage, Binary Domain and Child of Eden (which I didn't know wasn't Kinect only) are tempting from the ones I don't have.

Is Duke Nukem Forever worth £5? Is it so bad it's good, or just plain bad? :?

  5. Anyone got an opinion on Binary domain?? Need something to pass the time till Halo 4 since Resident Evil 6 turned out to be a poor mans Gears of War.

  6. Binary Domain is a good game - solid and smooth gunplay.

Child Of Eden is pretty cool too - i aint got kinect and liked what i played (its basically a shinier Rez) but not having kinect made the later parts of the game surprisingly hard...

  7. Ignore Ridge Racer - that's me confusing our review with Edge's rather more positive verdict. Blugrgh. Have replaced with Split/Second.

  8. Vanquish, Bulletstorm and Binary Domain are three of the most under-rated games on the 360, as long as you can put plots aside you'll enjoy the brilliant gameplay. Good to see them getting a mention.

  9. Agreed on Vanquish, Bulletstorm and Binary Domain. They're all excellent and extremely underrated.

In a just world, Vanquish would be sharing a throne with Gears of War.

  10. I love Vanquish, its story may be a bot dodgy in places but the giant robots more than make up for it! It has some epic moments too which left me staring at the screen wondering how there could be so much good looking stuff going on at once.

  11. I personally could have liked the game a little bit more, but i have bought Deus Ex Human Revolution for £5 from HMV, great bargain and with OXM's 10/10 score where can you go wrong?

  12. Binary Domain is good, quite a satisfying shooter. Rage was also quite good.

As for duke nukem, I enjoyed it. It wasn't the best shooter but I think it was harshly rated.

  13. what shops are the games in at this price?

  14. Not GAME :(

I borrowed Binary Domain for a week. Couple of weeks later, I bought it (not for under a tenner though). I'm enjoying it. Cliched humour, but I'm kinda liking that.

Not played much of Rage yet, but did enjoyed what I played. But then, I didn't pay a penny.....
