You can find the general site rules HERE, and you'll find our forum rules HERE.
I just saw inappropriate material somewhere!
Content posted by GT members (including blogs, comments, and user movies) can be reported by clicking on the Flag icon that is located near the content itself. You can then click on the reason you are reporting it. A moderator will take a look at the flagged content and take care of it from there.
In the forums, each forum post has an exclamation point icon that can be clicked on in order to report that post.
Always respect your fellow members.
Name calling and insults will not be tolerated, nor will harassment of any sort.
No racism, sexism, or any sort of prejudice will be tolerated.
If you don't like black gay midget jews, then post about it elsewhere.
It's not the language you use, but how you use it.
Saying 'f***' won't get you in trouble, but 'f*** you' will.
Do not harass other users.
If someone asks you to stop sending them messages, stop. If you don't and they report you for it, there's going to be problems.
Do not spam.
Spamming is posting or commenting simply for the sake of posting. This includes Blogs and User Reviews, if you're not willing to put in some effort, then don't make a Blog or User Review. Also, do not clutter up other people's blogs with pointless comments that benefit no one.
Do not post nudity.
We like pretty people too, but this isn't a porn site and your account will be banned.
Don't be mean to new people.
This can all be confusing to someone who just stumbles upon the site, so help them along.
Do not discuss or link to sites that commit or promote illegal activities such as pirating movies, music, or games.
This includes ROMs, despite what you may or may not think about their legality.
Do not argue with mods or admins in comments or blog posts.
You will undoubtedly get trumped and be sad. Messaging that mod hate mail or arguing in the forums will only solidify whatever punishment you were given and will lead to a harsher punishment.
Do not post or link to any joke sites.
Specifically those which result in pop-up cascades or equally annoying artifacts of the internet.
Do not post or link to any referral advertising sites.
People won't click on your link, and you'll get permanently banned. It's not worth it, and the deal is probably too good to be true anyway!
Thumb Ratings
Don't ask people for thumbs up and do not promise people thumbs in exchange for them doing something. This can be in a blog, a user review, or anything else that can be thumbed up. If people like the content, they'll give it thumbs. There's no need to beg for it.
Just because a rule is not listed here does not mean you can't break it.
Any misconduct, whether listed here or not, will be dealt with. Do not try to argue about the letter of the law, as this is not court, and we don't care.
Also, be sure to check out our Forum Rules and Guidelines before posting in our forums.
Punishments
Punishments will vary with the severity and nature of the crime. Punishments are given out at the discretion of the moderators and admins.
For breaking the rules, you may be penalized by the following:
-Loss of commenting ability
-The blocking of your Profile to the public.
-Account banning
-IP banning

Why are some videos blurry?
The quality of videos is relative to the speed of your internet connection. If you are
using a 56k modem to access GameTrailers, your connection speed may be too slow
to get a high-quality video stream; therefore the video may appear blurry
or be delivered like a filmstrip instead of a movie.
Can I download videos from GameTrailers?
Yes. You will see a download link on the player. Right click the link and select "Save as..." to download the video.
Why does my computer Crash when I try to view videos on GameTrailers?
As with all programs and plug-ins, Flash Player and/or Web browsers can
freeze or crash your computer. This should not happen on a regular
basis. When using a demanding application like a streaming video player,
try not to have other programs running that might be using system
resources.
What is Streaming?
The term "streaming" refers to files that are designed to play
as they download without the need to complete the download before you
begin playing it. These streaming files are specially encoded and
delivered from high-performance streaming servers. The whole process is
designed to let you enjoy more great, high-quality content faster. There
are many streaming products on the web: music, videos, animations and
more.
What is Video Compression?
In order to deliver quality video over the Internet, digitized video
clips are compressed using custom software. These video files start out
so big that downloading them would take many hours, even on a high-speed
connection. Compression decreases the file size, allowing for a
reasonable amount of download time or streaming capability.

What are Plug-Ins?
Plug-ins are small applications that give your browser extra
capabilities, such as playback of audio or video files, 2-D or 3-D
animation, and so on. When you try to view or hear a file that requires
a plug-in, like a movie or sound clip, the necessary plug-in launches
automatically if you already have it. Current browsers come prepackaged
with the most popular plug-ins (some are listed below), but if you don't
have the plug-in you need, you can download it from the developer's
site. Plug-ins are generally free, though some offer advanced features
for an extra fee. If you download and install a plug-in but find that
you still can't view the desired files, quit the browser and reopen it.
Some older browsers require you to quit the program in order to fully
install a plug-in.
What are Cookies?
A "cookie" is a small piece of data that a Website sends to
your computer to make your surfing easier. By doing the record-keeping
for you saving passwords, noting which plug-ins you have, and so on
