Leadership

Eric Boggs

Founder, CEO

Eric founded Argyle in 2009 with a vision to help marketers drive meaningful business results through social media. He spends every day leading Argyle in pursuit of this mission.

Prior to starting Argyle with Adam, Eric was employee #1 and part of the leadership team at Bronto Software, an email marketing automation software provider. At Bronto, Eric lead sales, marketing, and product efforts that laid the foundations for Bronto’s growth from 3-person start-up to 100-employee powerhouse.

Eric has a BS in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an MBA from UNC’s Kenan-Flagler Business School, where he was a Dean’s Fellow.

Fun Fact: Eric spends his free time brainwashing his infant son Thomas to love Carolina basketball and heavy metal music just like his dad.

Adam Covati

Founder, CTO

Adam has focussed his career on helping marketers get the most out of their marketing efforts. He saw Social Media as an arena with a dearth of good tools and knew that he could fix that with his digital marketing pedigree, years of SaaS product management experience, and dashing good looks.

Prior to Argyle, Adam was product manager for Bronto where he helped them build a solid position in the email marketing space. Before that he worked at Unica solving massive marketing problems for enterprise clients.

Adam has a BS in Computer Science from Worcester Polytech where he was published for his work on distributed computing far before it was hip.

Though he may come across as risk averse, Adam has dabbled in the art of crazy with previous hobbies of motorcycle racing and ice diving.

Mike Novi

Director, Platform

Mike is responsible for making sure that software development flows smoothly and professionally at Argyle. This often involves shoving Eric and Tristan and their "great new features" out of the room.

Prior to Argyle, Mike was the original architect and program manager at Massive Incorporated, a pioneer in in-game advertising, acquired by Microsoft in 2006. He has repeatedly taken new start-up teams, organized them, and lead them in shipping their first products. These start-ups include Fairmarket (sold to eBay), HealthRamp, and Pronto Games (which he co-founded).

Mike holds a BS in Computer Science from Virginia Tech and an MBA from NYU Stern School of Business.

Fun fact: Mike has shaped his personality after the character Cliff Clavin from the television series Cheers.

Tristan Handy

Director, Marketing and Operations

Tristan has built Argyle’s marketing and operations from the ground up. Deeply obsessive compulsive, he makes sure that the entire revenue cycle—from first touch to happy customer—is humming.

Prior to Argyle, Tristan was the Director of Operations at Squarespace, where he overhauled revenue and customer analytics, expanded and formalized customer support, and ran product management. Tristan also spent five years with Deloitte Consulting, managing custom development projects for state and local governments.

Tristan has a BS in Finance from the University of Maryland and an MBA from UNC’s Kenan-Flagler Business School.

Fun Fact: Tristan is an avid Starcraft II player, ranked in the North American Masters’ league with Protoss.

Joshua Smith

Interface and Design Director

Josh keeps Argyle looking beautiful, simple, and ultimately usable. Obsessive about data visualization, web standards, and UI patterns, Josh makes sure every interaction — from simple tweeting to complex reporting — is gorgeous and understandable.

Before coming to Argyle, Josh was the Visual Design Lead for LotusLive at IBM, where he led the graphic and interaction design strategies of enterprise-level SaaS applications for collaboration, file-sharing, and interactive meetings.

Josh graduated Summa cum Laude from the College of Design at North Carolina State University in both Graphic Design and Industrial Design.

Tidbit: Ask Josh to put break tags in a line of text and watch him go all Hulk on you.
