PlayStation Certified Devices Coming From HTC in 2012

Posted February 15, 2012 by M.H. Williams

When Sony announced its Xperia Play smartphone, it also mentioned the ‘PlayStation Certified’ branding for Android smartphones that could run Sony’s emulated PSOne titles.  Currently, that branding only extends to Sony smartphones and tablets, but anonymous sources have told Pocket-Lint that HTC is in talks to launch other PlayStation Certified devices.

The move will help Sony expand the branding as the current certified devices, including the Xperia Play, Tablet S, and Tablet P, haven’t exactly been setting the consumer market on fire.  It could also help HTC differentiate itself in an increasingly crowded Android device market.

HTC said that it could not "comment on rumors or speculation” when asked about the report.
