PlayStation 3

The PlayStation 3, or PS3, is a seventh-generation home console designed to play videogame and media DVDs, Blu-ray Discs, and CDs. It helped popularize the use of Blu-ray Discs over HD DVDs for high-definition content. It uses the wireless Sixaxis and DualShock 3 gamepads, both of which include rotational and translational motion-sensing technology as well as the features of the DualShock 2 except, in the case of the Sixaxis, force feedback. The PlayStation 3 is backwards compatible with most PlayStation games and features connectivity with the PlayStation Portable and the PlayStation Network.
