The Trailer For ‘Texas Chainsaw 3D’ Is Here, And There’s A Sh*t Ton Of Revving!!!

It’s here! We’ve just now landed the first official trailer for Lionsgate’s newly titled Texas Chainsaw 3D, which has been rated “R” by the MPAA for “strong, grisly violence and language throughout.” The footage looks way cheaper than the Platinum Dunes remake, and the trailer features barely any dialogue, so it’s hard to gauge how good this could be. Still, who knew the sound of a chainsaw revving could be such a luscious sound? What do you guys think?

Texas Chainsaw 3D, in theaters January 4, 2013, is being directed by John Luessenhop from a screenplay by Adam Marcus, Debra Sullivan and Kirsten Elms. Dan Yeager, John Dugan, Bill Moseley, Alexandra Daddario, Sue Rock, Tania Raymonde, Scott Eastwood, Gunnar Hansen, Tobe Hooper, Paul Rae, Keram Malicki-Sánchez, Ritchie Montgomery, Trey Songz, Marilyn Burns, Shaun Sipos, Thom Barry and Richard Riehle star.

The seventh incarnation is a direct sequel to Tobe Hooper’s classic 1974 film that follows the lead character, Heather, who along with her friends, travel to Texas in order to collect an inheritance. The spin? What would you do if you found out your cousin was Leatherface, and he was now YOURS?

‘Texas Chainsaw 3D’continues the legendary story of the homicidal Sawyer family, picking up where Tobe Hooper’s 1974 horror classic left off in Newt, Texas, where for decades people went missing without a trace. The townspeople long suspected the Sawyer family, owners of a local barbeque pit, were somehow responsible. Their suspicions were finally confirmed one hot summer day when a young woman escaped the Sawyer house following the brutal murders of her four friends. Word around the small town quickly spread, and a vigilante mob of enraged locals surrounded the Sawyer stronghold, burning it to the ground and killing every last member of the family – or so they thought.

Decades later and hundreds of miles away from the original massacre, a young woman named Heather learns that she has inherited a Texas estate from a grandmother she never knew she had. After embarking on a road trip with friends to uncover her roots, she finds she is the sole owner of a lavish, isolated Victorian mansion. But her newfound wealth comes at a price as she stumbles upon a horror that awaits her in the mansion’s dank cellars…

Hmm, that trailer didn’t really tell me much, but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t cheesing as soon as I heard that saw!

  2. Avatar of djblack1313

this looks pretty decent! i really like Alexandra Daddario, so i’m in.

  3. Avatar of djblack1313

oh, and (this makes me happy!) it looks like there may be a really good(?) chase scene (a la Helen’s in I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER) in this!! a chase that isn’t over in 2 seconds if you know what i mean. fingers crossed!

    • Avatar of pjblake81

Yea, same here. The more I think of this asinine plot of her inheriting him the more I don’t even want to see it. Taking him away from the slaughterhouse is just plain stupid.

      • Avatar of Skull-And-Crossbones

i think the “inheriting him” was the rumored plot or something. i don’t know why it’s posted again above the trailer. i think she just inherits the mansion from a grandmother she never knew. but im just going by what seems to be an official synopsis posted underneath the trailer.

  4. Avatar of pjblake81

Ok, two things. 1. My god that one girl is hot. Jesus christ. 2. I find it ATROCIOUS that they would ever even THINK of showing him without his “mask” or even putting it on. He looked way too “human” in that clip. I don’t like that he’s not in the slaughterhouse apron either. I think this plot is bordering on ridiculous also.

    • Avatar of Skull-And-Crossbones

i think him sewing and putting the mask on his face was just a flashback shot to when it all started because that clip is preceded by the title card “1974″ then a bunch of cuts and some more title cards and then it appears to fast forward to when the movie actually takes place. at least that’s what it looked like to me.

I just literally Face Palmed at your second comment.

Leatherface ISN’T Supposed to be like Freddy, Michale, or Jason. Leatherface IS HUMAN! He’s not some supernatural being that can’t die and walks through walls. He is a “Human monster”, the idea that the person next door is never how they seem.

On the other hand, I think this new one looks good, and this is coming from a fan of the original movies.

I love the poster, and I thought the trailer was pretty well done. I don’t have high hopes for the film, but I’ll end up seeing it anyway, haha.

  6. Avatar of Danny-E

Ok…I’ll be the bad guy. This looks awful. Digital low budget garbage that goes straight to DVD. It’s the same trailer as the 2003 one but done poorly. I will still see it cause I’m a sucker but very disappointed.

  7. Avatar of c0caine

I created account here, so i can express my feelings about the the trailer. I find it very cheesy, like it’s filmed with a phone. It doesnt have the so called “movie effect” :(

  8. Avatar of Chris Hortola

The plot has me worried more than anything. This trailer didn’t do very much for me either. His chainsaw looks like a little kids saw. Agree with the above comments, DONT show his face!!

    • Avatar of crow454

My sentiments exactly. Part of the many charms of the original was the “real people” aspect. Casting vacuous pretty 20-somethings with ripped bodies already has taken me out of the experience.

  9. Avatar of diapers

Looks like a bunch of kids party and then get chopped up… sign me up!

  10. Avatar of Rwhyan

Wow that was extremely underwhelming… It looks way too cheap.

  11. Avatar of Dr_Loomis

This looks bad. I can only hope all those kids get slaughtered in it. And what the hell is “Usher” doing in this? (Yes, I know, it’s not really him).

  12. Avatar of mav07

this looks like a remake, of the remake. But oh well, at least it’s something?

  13. Avatar of Baphomitt

Is there a way to give the trailer back? Like un-release it? Maybe a petition for an injunction barring the movie’s release… like Adrien Brody tried to do with Giallo?

  14. Avatar of Blood-Sicles

Looks pretty well-made to me. The cinematography looks great, even if it isn’t as unbelievably-glossy as the Platinum Dunes version. I’ll give it a go, as long as it isn’t as horrible as that last installment.

  15. Avatar of VictorCrowley

Been following this movie for over a year and was super, super hyped when I read who all was coming back and my interactions with Dan Yeager on Facebook. The teaser poster was cool and added to the hype. Could not love the fact any more that this movie is a sequel to the original film and not another remake/prequel.

Since then some things have caused said hype to fizzle somewhat. Adding a teenie-bop rapper to the cast was the first red flag. Immediately my visions of an old school looking 1970′s flavor horror film turned into bad flashbacks of Halloween H20 and Resurrection.

Then, there was the recent still photo, which was a bit quizzical to me. 35 years later and Leatherface is smaller than before? You’d think someone of his lifestyle would be twice the size by then. I thought Dan Yeager was bigger than that. Missing Andrew B. all of a sudden.

Was still hyped to see the trailer though, but will admit it leaves quite a bit to be desired. I really wish they would’ve shown some glimpses of the returning cast and focused more on the sequel aspect before flashing forward three and a half decades. Despite the text acknowledging the original, what is shown doesn’t feel like a sequel at all.

I’m a bit deflated at this point, but I’m still gonna see it. Just feels like we’re in for another waste of a good opportunity to resurrect one of the all time great horror stories.

  16. Avatar of divisionbell

Man they should have just let this series go after Nispel’s brilliant remake. The original and the remake were the only good ones.

Well…I do kinda have a soft spot for the 3rd. Hard to pass on Viggo Mortensen as a hillbilly!

  17. Avatar of Samhain2010

Well I guess I’m going to have to be mean as well. Well at least now we know why the movie was dumped into the beginning of the year. This looks just dreadful. The movie looks really cheap, but not in any sort of good way. They show Leatherface’s face! Didn’t anyone learn from the remake that that is not a good idea? I guess he is just a normal looking guy now. He is also not mentally disabled in any way. We get to see a bunch of pot smoking and shirtless late-twenties people playing teenagers. Even the music in the trailer sucks! They do know that there was a sequel to Hooper’s original right? It was The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 and Tobe Hooper directed it! If they wanted to make a sequel, they should have made it follow that one. It doesn’t matter though, this looks so bad that at this point, who really cares? For the last year or so I have been a huge cheerleader for this movie. Well I think I’m done with that now.

  18. Avatar of flesheater24

Its the same stuff recycled, just happy that we get another one regardless if its the same shit. I’ll be checkin it for sure :)

  19. Avatar of ruthlesscruelty

Glad to finally get another slasher, especially Chainsaw… but this looks and vibes nothing like the original. Why when they make these is it always about middle aged teens driving and dying. Same old is boring now. I loved the remake and the prequel… would’ve just preferred to have see the hitchhiker and her family’s story from the remake than this. Disappointed.

  20. Avatar of ChefDave1976

hi everyone…..I really really enjoyed the trailer. :) kudos cant wait to see it. However I read the synopsis and there is a flaw, the family that spanned Leatherface aka Tommy is the Pruiet family not the Sawyer family as indicated. Sorry that needed to be addressed but damn does that movie look bad ass!!!

  21. Avatar of Taboo

Looks decent, but most likely will suck. Sad because I was somewhat excited about a new Chainsaw movie :(

  22. Avatar of Samhain2010

Chef- It’s the Sawyer family. This is a sequel to the original. I believe the name of the family in the remake was Hewitt not Pruiet.

  23. Avatar of Mintica90s

in my opinion , you wont know if it’s good or not until you see the movie. remember the old saying that “you cant judge a book by it’s cover”? well , you cant judge a movie by it’s trailer. and are we really asking for a slasher film to be original? since when has any slasher film in the past 20-30 years ever been original? we have the killer in the woods , the ghost in the closet , demons from hell , vampires sucking blood and sucking at being vampires , scares by camera POV’;s , scares from suspence , jump scares , puckets and puckets of blood , you get the picture. maybe the film will get better despite it’s wooden plot. also remember this old saying “apperances can be deceiving”. even if it doesnt reach expectations , it’s at least something given to the major audiences.

  24. Avatar of Mintica90s

lets also face it ladies and gentlemen. after 6 years later , it’s better than nothing. I can understand defending a classic film anyday. but unless you see the movie and then give yourself your own interpritation on weither or not you think it’s good or not , then you cant make that kind of remark until the film is released. afterall , it’s just a teaser trailer. and even if it may eventually be bad , it’s at least not Hellraiser Revelations level of bad.

  25. Avatar of Mintica90s

interpretation. god I am just full of typo’s today. but you know what else folks? at least it might be better than The Texas Chainsaw Massacre The Next Generation. god that one sucked on so many levels. easily one of the worst films I have ever seen.

    • Avatar of jesuseatspaste

The remakes/prequels have all been a huge letdown! I just wanted to comment on the whole horrible slasher remark by saying that The Collector was surprisingly well done, and that I’m looking more forward to the sequel to that (The Collection) than any chainsaw movie that has come out since since Leatherface over 20 years ago.

      • Avatar of Mintica90s

cool. while I dont completely agree with that stament , I respect your comment in return. next year we also have the remake of Carrie and Curse of Chucky. as much as everyone has complained about TCM-3D , people will most likely complain about those films as well. that’s the name of the game. people complain about everything. did I hate personally hate Star Wars Episode I? no. why not? because while it’s not entierly a good movie , I have seen much , much worse. hell , even after we asked about Indiana Jones 4 , people complained about it. my honest opinion is that there isnt such a thing as a 100% good or bad film because people’s taste in movies is always different and not everybody tends to agree with the crowd. there are such people out there who dont like Gone With The Wind , but like Crank. hell , even the most shittest of movies tend to find it’s audience at some point. movies are really only based on peoples opinions. if it wasnt based on that , then we would all have agreed 100% with roger ebert when he ripped Friday The 13th The Final Chapter to shreds. even if a film is rated badly , people still tend to go see it. wether or not the film deserves it’s reputation , people will still either love it or hate it.

  26. Avatar of DeathValzer

I’m 50/50 on this, the film looks decent but everything on this trailer looks so friggin’ familiar.

Can’t help but notice the cliche characters including what looks like the slut, her douche bag boyfriend, the innocent virgin, the stoner and the scared black guy. But what the hell? I’ll still go watch it.

    • Avatar of Mintica90s

every slasher films has those types of characters. I personally have seen every single TCM film , and I can say that at least it wont be as bad as TCM4. TCM3 was bad but it is at least a guilty pleasure if you dont take it too seriously. especially since it has the redneck character and the first on screen role for viggo mortensen. hell , even leonardo decaprio got his first role in Critters 3. will it be better than the 1974 classic? no. but it will at least be better than TCM4….hopefully.

  27. Avatar of Merteuil81

the trailer just kind of reminds me of the 2003 remake. Doesn’t seem like anything new or interesting.

    • Avatar of Mintica90s

the funny thing is that the 2003 TCM in my book was the best of the new line horror remakes. sure this one may not be better than the 2003 remake. but unless you are willing to say that TCM 2003 wasnt all that bad and unless if you have seen the other 5 films of this new 7 film franchise , there really must expecations to give for this new one. all I can say is that it’s just a film to sit down and enjoy with your friends or girlfriend. movies to me are meant to be a specific way to just escape reality for a few hours. if we are going to lecture and criticize every single film out there then I think we will be here all day. the common movie goers thinks in terms of black and white and just says it flat out sucks. so , unless if you are willing to give a film a chance , if it deserves it given the circumstances , then any new slasher film will be un-original and no one will want to see any horror films anymore based on that reason alone. we keep asking for films to just be as good as the originals, and they havent.

    • Avatar of Mintica90s

I will as well. I just wish that they could release in October instead of January. why not release it in October during the Halloween season? why release this kind of film during the winter season? they did the same thing with the 2007 Halloween film when they released it in August. if you look at the majority of horror films this year for next month , you will see that they are lacking horror films. with the exception of re-releasing the original Halloween , which I want to see badly , there isnt anything relativley new being released without another Paranormal Activity film. no slasher films? no supernatural thrillers? barley anything in the category of horror is being released next month. that sucks.

  28. Avatar of Monki KaZa

Looks like a DTV movie. How the fuck can someone say that this looks good. Seriously people?

    • Avatar of Mintica90s

try looking at the trailer of Hellraiser Revelations , and then look at this trailer. I think you can see the difference. sure this film may/may not be good , but then again , it could be worse.

  29. Avatar of DeathAwaits

ugh. another slasher shit show. I dont mind that they are making a movie like this – just dont continue to tarnish the “Texas Chainsaw” name.

  30. Avatar of staindFAN

Let me start by saying the original TCM is my favorite horror movie (tied with Psycho) so anything Leatherface or Chainsaw related, Im all for. With that said, after watching the trailer, Im a little let down, but not too much. I don’t think this looks like a direct to disc movie first off, like some others are saying. I DO believe though, that this mimicks the 2003 version, as far as the look of it goes. I just kept thing about that version the whole time I was watching this trailer, couldn’t help it. On a plus though, this is supoosed to have Bill Moseley and Gunnar in it as a cameo appearance, I didn’t see either one of them in the trailer. So there just might be some good stuff left that we are not seeing in this trailer. I don’t like the idea of it being 3D either, but other then that I will for sure check it out and at the least, hope it’s entertaining. I hope they bring the gore by the bucket loads also!!!

    • Avatar of Mintica90s

I too love the original TCM as my most favorite horror film ever made. I have no idea as to why so many people are being way too harsh on a film where all we saw was a teaser trailer. I have seen all 6 TCM films thus far , and I have seen either actual remakes or remake trailers. if there is one film that tried to connect with an older film , and failed in the process , it has to be 2011 The Thing. we keep asking for these films to be original , and as far as TCM , what are you people “truly” expecting? YCM4 to me was by far the worst of the entire franchise , and even if this one doesnt succeed , it wont be the worst horror film ever , not even close. everyone seems to “kind of” hate this film , but remember how bad those films was getting in the first place since 1990? I keep saying that Hellraiser Revelations is the worst and I stand by that. sure TCM has been remade and now it has a true sequel , but at least Tobe Hooper isnt whining and complaining about it. Clive Barker is the only director who I have ever seen who firmly hated a remake based on his own work. John Carpenter didnt bad mouth the Halloween Remake. hell even Sean Cuningham didnt bad mouth the Firday The 13th Remake. and sure Wes Craven doesnt like people remaking his Elm Street film , but at least he didnt bad mouth it either and was at least willing to have directors make sequels in the 80′s. so , what more do we have to complain about?

  31. Avatar of hardcorehavok

I’m not quite sure if I am excited or not. Bill Moseley, Tobe Hooper and Gunnar Hansen are in it, but it looks like a remake set in present day. But who am I kidding? I’ll see it opening night.

  32. Avatar of Remember-Slithis

I think this looks way better than the remake or the prequel sequel.Don’t see anything 3D worthy though.I’m not going to judge this until I see it.I love the original and can’t wait to see how they pull the sequel storyline off.Relax Trolls at least it’s not in space or called Son of Leatherface!

  33. Avatar of djblack1313

Alexandra Daddario would make a great Wonder Woman. she’s gorgeous! the part that i’m confused on is when he’s at the fence and the packed carnival is going on and he’s sawing at the fence….so it’s no secret i take it that he’s on the rampage since people see him doing that. right? and it shows a man dragging Alexandra’s character where she ends up tied up & gagged. so Leatherface has friends/help in this. interesting.

  34. Avatar of Giraffe_Monster

As some of you already said, I don’t think 3D will be a good thing for this movie.
If anything, it will probably hinder its success.

Now, the imagery does look good, and even though we’ve had a share of good films these past years (genre wise), a horror movie with striking imagery and such is always a good thing.

The movie may not be THAT good, but at least you can see that they’re putting effort into it.
At least that’s the impression I got.

For those mentioning the previous two movies, well, I get it that they’re not that old, but watching The Texas Chainsaw Massacre then (2003) is a whole different experience than watching it now.
I mean, back then people were still afraid to watch that movie, along with “Wrong Turn”, “Hostel”, and a few others.

So it’s obvious that this movie is going to probably top the previous ones. Well, I hope it does, after all this time they could carefully examine where the other two movies failed and finally make a good one, it’s only natural.

    Eh, I digress.
Slasher movies ain’t my thing, but I’ll keep an eye on this one, see where it goes from here.

    Good trailer, showed enough.

    • Avatar of Mintica90s

the major impression from what I gather is that people will either love it or hate it. it’s a mixed reaction. the problem is that people want this film , or at least when another sequel tends to be made , to be 100% exactly like the original. well , with any given franchise , it wont happen. also , I have never once heard Tobe Hooper complain about it. and he’s the man who created the franchise along with Kim Henkel. when it comes to slasher films ladies and gentlemen , the ONLY director who I have ever heard tear a remake to shreds and bitch about it to an overly drastic degree , was Clive Barker. and he had every good reason to. even if TCM-3D doesnt do well , it’s still better than Hellraiser Revelations. hell , any horror remake at least has one or two of the original creators either support the idea or at least allows it to exist. like what James Rolfe said about the Terminator Franchise , I am open to another TCM film anyday. why? because all I want to be able to do is go to a movie , sit down , shut up , and watch the damn movie for 2 hours. and then leave with my opinion. with TCM-3D , I’m not expecting anything spectacular , I’m just expecting to see another TCM film. that’s all.

      • Avatar of staindFAN

“I’m just expecting to see another TCM film. that’s all.”
        So true!!!

        • Avatar of Mintica90s

thanks. it’s been over 6 years since we saw a single TCM film. I think at this point , I dont have any expectations to make. only the desire to just see a new movie for once. when it comes to slasher films in the past decade to have true sequels to older films , that is a very rare thing to come by. TCM-3D is the only true sequel to an older franchise that isnt a remake/prequel/or reboot that we have. if you look at the past decade and ignore more recently made franchises , where do you see a true slasher sequel that isnt a remake or prequel? none. TCM is the first film that breaks the remake boundries and at least makes a true sequel to the original film without directly copying it. and that’s all I personally wanted , a true sequel to an older franchise. no other slasher franchise beyond Curse Of Chucky has yet to follow this example.

  35. Avatar of Giraffe_Monster

Oh and by the way, I know I said it was a good trailer, but that thing in the end where she rolls over and hides in the casket is just dumb.

I mean, nevermind how that just breaks the whole trailer dynamic, but trapping yourself in a confined space when being chased by a maniac is just dumb.

It doesn’t even matter if he’s carrying a chainsaw or not, but if he DOES and you KNOW it…

    Dumb :\.

    • Avatar of Mintica90s

I know what you mean. watching the original Superman recently , this whole scene had Lowis Lane trapped in a car drowning in rock and dirt before she died. if lowis lane was at all smart , she would of seen the quake behind her , and get out of her car through the right door and not keep turing the ignition key to start the car over and over and over again. she had a good chance to escape from death if she just did the most ovbious thing : ditch the car , escape through the car door , and run like hell. even one of the construction workers in an older horror film called Killdozer had plenty of time to move his ass before he was killed. beyond the potheads , slutty teenagers , and the rude jocks that has oversaturated most horror films in this past decade , I think the most embarrasing thing to watch is a main hero die because they didnt do the most obvious thing. it’s a cliche that is getting old extremely quick.

  37. Avatar of Mintica90s

I am not really sure what you folks are expecting in the first place. I think TCM-3D is good enough to just say “ok , let’s just go see it”. it’s at least better than nothing. unlike other companies who denies us the privilage to allow us to have titles that is painfully obvious that we want (pointing fingers at you Microsoft/Rare) , I think 6 years since TCM-B , you should be happy that you’re at least getting a sequel instead of a prequel like The Thing. lets also face the cold hard truth , horror films are NOT meant to please everybody. it’s an experience that is mostly built on fan driven franchises and are or were mostly date night type movies. bring your girlfriend or friends and have fun. if you asking for good quality films , your not going to get it since no horror film beyond only 2 are able to win acadamy awards. they are meant to entertain and are not suppose to be realistic. since the golden years of the universal monster films to today’s horror films , there hasnt been a single original film or realistic film that hasnt been done at least 20 times now. it’s just a slasher movie sequel. what more do you really need?

  38. Avatar of Zombie-Killa

    Love it.

Before logging in, I probably watched watched this trailer five times or more. I see the potential for a bloody slasher, filled with carnage, and attractive women. As a horror fan, I can’t ask for anything else, and I’m beyond pumped.

The Next Generation is probably one of the worst films ever. It isn’t limited to being a bad Chainsaw Massacre film, it’s just an awful film all around. 3D shouldn’t sink to the same levels of shit. In fact, I think it’s impossible for anything to be as bad as The Next Generation. It felt like they were trying to make one of the worst movies of all-time.

Ugh, waiting until January 4th is going to kill me, and the revving is giving me goosebumps. Bring on the 3D!!!

    • Avatar of Mintica90s

try Psycho 1998 & The Thing 2011. trust me , if you want something that is even worse than TCM TNG and without a doubt the worst horror remake ever made , watch Hellraiser Revelations. the trailer alone was the same outraged reaction I had when I saw the trailer to Jack & Jill. watching the trailer makes me want to bang my head repeatedly against the wall just to remove the image from my head. the film is beyond god awful. Pinhead look wrong and is fat , the acting is extremely bad , the cenobites look laughable , the effects are worse than the 1987 film , and whole look of the film feels pathetically low budget. if a film like this not was able to be universally panned , and was able to piss off Clive Barker , then you know that a film has some serious problems. not only with critics , but with fans , audiences , even the original creators. say what you will about the majority of horror remakes and even this new TCM , even if they tend to be bad , they are butched compared to Hellraiser Revelations. it’s TMNT III and Batman & Robin level of bad.

      • Avatar of Zombie-Killa

Psycho ’98 was awful. And I HATED The Thing 2011. It was just a shitty mainstream horror film, loaded with unnecessary CGI, can’t compare to Carpenter’s 1982 classic in any way.

I’ve never seen Hellraiser Revelations, but after reading your post, I don’t think I want to. I remember Barker’s twitter rant, and the trailer was horrible. I guess Revelations isn’t one of those “awfully corny movies, that are fun to watch.” It sounds like crap, but don’t worry, I’ll stay away from it. lol.

        • Avatar of Mintica90s

good move. I tend to be less harsh on films and remakes if I think it wont be as bad or if it might have a good chance. hell , even the original 2 resident evil films and doom are not as bad as they make it. and those 3 films are at least watchable. Hellraiser Reveltaions just makes me want to pull the hair out of my head. I have never seen it but I saw the trailer , and it’s just shocking bad. I have seen TCM TNG and I think it’s one of the worst films I have ever seen right up there with House Of The Dead , Alone In The Dark , and Immortals. TCM 4 was nothing more but characters , hillbill’s , and a transexual Leatherface , screaming for 90 minutes. I defend most slasher remakes that doesrt deserve the bad reputation since that have never once pissed off the original creators. TCM didnt piss off Tobe Hopper , Friday 13th didnt piss off Sean Cunningham , Halloween didnt piss off John Carpenter , hell even Wes Craven didnt go ballistic over elm street even with the sequels in the 80′s. he didnt like the idea , but he doesnt bitch and complain about it. Hellraiser Revelations is the only movie where it did piss off it’s creator. and I can guarentee you that even after TCM-3D comes out , it wont piss off Tobe Hooper. Tobe Hooper is far more kind to the franchise then Kim Henkel is.

        • Avatar of staindFAN

I told Doug Bradley himself at a recent horror con that it was a good move passing up Hellraiser Revelations. Told him I watched about 15 mins of it and turned it off. He thanked me lol…

I once spoken to actor Vin Diesel at least 4 times when I used to be on you tube. and he liked my music videos I started to make. that was in 2011. and since then , I have made over 100. I myself have been desiging characters , creatures , weapons , vehicles , and title logos for my ultimate epic amerime project that I have put my full devotion into for officially 13 years since November 10 , 1999. one such music video was a tribute to the original TCM using the song Links 234 by Rammstein. the biggest and best music video I have ever made was my version of Navras. 63 seperate franchise clips in a 9 minute music video. Navras is a 9 minute techno song made by Don Davis & Juno Reactor from the film The Matrix Revolutions.

since vin diesel told me he really like my music videos , I tend to tell people that I got on Riddick’s good side. XD

One man’s trash is……..well still trash. A lame reworking of a classic film with poor 3 D added.

  40. Avatar of Tim Murr

What the hell can any of us expect? You can’t recapture that dirty poor hungry desperate feel of the original-you can smell the money poured into this. It doesn’t look any worse than 90% of the other drek titles being passed off as horror, which isn’t saying anything, I know. Most of us will drop a buck in Redbox and bitch about it the whole next day. We have the money, we keep these studios in business, when are they going to listen to the FANS about what kind of movie they should be making? I mean, when it comes to remaking Texas or Friday we’re not talking about ART we’re talking about CONSUMERISM, so, Mr Producer man, how about checking with people who GET horror before you go screw with a seminal work. Or just watch V/H/S or Henry or Deep Red to see how it’s done.

you know something , people will complain about any given film for not being as good as they want or not being on the same level as the original , but they wont hesitate to buy figurines and replica props based on the films we complain about. remember when we keep asking for an alien vs predator film? after it was relesased , people hated it. but that wont stop people from buying replica masks and figurines based on it by hot toys. also , james cameron and ridley scott hated avp. but on the same page , james cameron allowed his precious terminator franchise to get ruined by sequels that half like and half hated , and ridley scott wasnt able to bring back the top notch quality for the alien franchise with Prometheus either. so , if we see a film and dump shit all over it , and then we go off and buy products based on it , then do we really have any right to complain and are we any better in return? no. we hate specific films for not being 100% like they all wanted , but that doesnt stop them from buying toys and merchandises based on it either. we purchase products based on film franchises that we are suppose to hate. that’s like saying that shit is shit , but I dont mind buying plastic dolls based on that shit.

      • Avatar of Tim Murr

I’ve stated before that it’s not the REMAKE that I’m annoyed with, remake whatever you want, but make it GOOD. Hell, I liked AvP for what it was-I love big dumb popcorn movies. But people must know their limitations. If you read a script of a remake or sequel and it doesn’t measure up to and/or improve upon the original, then don’t do it. Who read the script for Hellraiser 3 and went “Yup, get’re done!” I hate the notion that this genre is disposable and any old crap can get rolled out. And I’d personally rather have a kick ass Leatherface toy than another swing and a miss in the theatre. And besides, Texas is not like Nightmare on Elm Street, which lends itself to multiple films, what else is there to say after the original? Just rerelease the original back theaters every couple of years.

        • Avatar of Mintica90s

understandable. a good movie that is a remake is a very , very hard thing to come by my friend. also , if you’re asking them to just re-release the same film again and again , then your not going to please major studios. the elm street sequels are not particually praised by wes craven himself. whatever the arugment is and whatever film people tend to talk about , the biggest problem when it comes to most of not all forms of media in todays age is that they focus too much on quantity than quality. I too cant stand to see more films using cgi for all of their effects and the constant wave of useless 3D films made ou there. I myself have my problems with Jurassic Park being released in 3D since Star Wars Episode I 3D failed even harder than when it first came out since there was barley any real 3D on the screen. it takes talented , devoted , and creative people to make good films , and hollywood needs to start taking more risks if they intend to expand. horror is not the only genre that is guilty of having too much quantity over quality. hell , they get so lazy no adays where even blood is in cgi. it’s a trend that is growing and only the smarter folks are taking notice. I fully understand when remakes are made and when the bounderies of quality vs quantity crosses the line when the majority of films we like are getting more and more difficult to tolerate.

For a movie that comes out in january. I can’t imagine that this is the final full length trailer. So for everyone who’s saying it sucks based off of this, just chill…….

    • Avatar of Mintica90s

couldnt agree more. jeeze , I havent seen this many people pissed off over a teaser trailer since The Dark Knight Rises. we havent seen too much of this film , and people are already starting to break balls and bitch about it? when was the last time where people just watched a trailer or a movie , and moved on? the film is not even out yet and already there is a mixed reaction of people who cant wait to see it or are being far too harsh about it. it’s only a trailer , not the actual movie itself. I agree with your statement. and to quote my younger brother , Chillax.

  42. Avatar of sqitso

Seriously? Are there that many supposed horror fans here that have not seen the original? LEATHFACE WAS NOT DISFIGURED IN ANYWAY! He was just slow and sexual confused. He wore other people’s faces BUT HE PREFERRED WOMEN faces! God.. He was a very large man, that was damn near retarded and a transvestite. That damn turd of a remake Jessica Beil was in screwed up the entire series by trying to make it look like he wore people’s faces because he was just ugly. He is a psychotic, transvestite, with serious issues.. End of story.

    • Avatar of Mintica90s

well , the facts based on Bubba Sawyer “Leatherface” says differently : The original film never shows Leatherface without one of his human-flesh masks on. He differs from other movie killers in that the films portray him not so much as sadistic or evil but as mentally retarded. Most of the time he only does what his family tells him to do. Hansen has stated that Leatherface is “completely under the control of his family. He’ll do whatever they tell him to do. He’s a little bit afraid of them.” In the documentary The Shocking Truth, Tobe Hooper portrays Leatherface as a “big baby” who kills in self-defense because he feels threatened, pointing out that in the first film Leatherface is actually frightened of all the new people entering his house.

  43. Avatar of Mintica90s

you know something folks , remember when R Lee Ermey was in the TCM remakes? I agree with Cinemassacre in his top 10 remakes video when he stated that his performance was very under-rated. and in the defense of the TCm remake , it’s still the best remake of the 3 new line horror remakes. if you at least compare 2003 TCM to 2009 Friday The 13th and 2010 A Nightmare On Elm Street , TCM is still the better film. but hey , if you haters still put trash in front of any given TCM film for not being like the original , then you can do 1 of 2 things:

    • Avatar of Mintica90s

1 – you can use the tag line from the original The Last House On The Left and say over and over again “it’s only a movie. it’s only a movie. it’s only a movie”.

      or…

      • Avatar of Mintica90s

2 – if you still hate the TCM films from 1986 through….uh….months from now , then you can use this quote from Full Metal Jacket from R Lee Ermey himself :
Gunnery Sergeant Hartman: Where the hell are you from anyway, private?
        Private Cowboy: Sir, Texas, sir.
Gunnery Sergeant Hartman: Holy dog shit! Texas? Only steers and queers come from Texas, Private Cowboy, and you don’t look much like a steer to me, so that kinda narrows it down.

  44. Avatar of Blaine N

This looks a monsterous abortion….Scifi channel movies have more appeal.

    • Avatar of Mintica90s

sci-fi channel? sci-fi channel makes mostly original movies if they’re not busy making updated shows of sci-fi titles we have already seen before. a low budget slasher film is no where as bad as a low budget sci-fi channel movie with effects that would be more appropriate and are far more entertaining in an asylum film. I have seen some sci-fi channel based movies , and trust me , they are not even worth comparring. even if TCM-3D ends up being bad , it’s far more enjoyable to watch than a made for tv movie with a low budget and poor cgi effects. this film doesnt use cgi as their gimick. I hope the 3D would at least be in your face 3D like My Bloody Valentine. I dont expect the 3D to be anything but a cheap gimick , which it is , but at least aim for something. maybe you folks need to stop judging this film too harshly “before” it’s even out and at least give it a fair chance when it does release. then you can bitch and complain about it till your hearts contempt.

      • Avatar of Honey-Boo-Boo

You, sir, are very passionate about this film. I don’t think Blaine meant anything about the graphics. It just does not look good. Modern day Leatherface? No thanks. Leave him in the 70′s.

        • Avatar of Blaine N

aaaah shit, here comes Honey Boo Boo. Exactly Texas Chainsaw Massacre is meant for the 70′s not some crappy poorly thrown together modern remake. Oh my goodness your grandma you never knew left you a house in the middle of Texas…strike 1. Leatherface escaped a townsfolk burning of his home and migrated to a new random house (that some chicks never known grandma left her)….strike 2. Trey Songz is in it…strike 3.
          Grasping at straws…….

um ya, not a very good first impression. tcm is supposed to be gritty and this looks way to clean cut, and leatherface looks hella weak. i’ll still give it a go but i was more impressed with the poster they released a couple of weeks ago

  46. Avatar of Mintica90s

(deep breath) alright ladies and gentlemen , lets look at the facts. we have just gotten a single teaser trailer. 1. count them…..1. the first trailer that we are at least lucky to have , and already people are treating it like it’s the worst thing in the world. at first we are like “oh this will be cool” , and then it’s like “this looks like shit”. again , 1 teaser trailer shown , and already people are like “this is an abomination. how dare they make yet another chainsaw film. we want the same film that we have seen at least 100 times before because that’s what everybody likes”. well folks , maybe if you all would stop complaining and at least start enjoying films more often , then we wouldnt be complaining about movies all the time and we wouldnt tear every single movie in existance to shreds. everyone is showing mixed emotions in a strong way after just 1 teaser trailer. really folks? it’s Texas Chainsaw 3D!!! what more do you really need? with the plot that was given , what did you think was going to be shown? what were you really expecting? you folks wanted a slasher sequel that isnt a remake/prequel/or reboot. well , careful what you wish for. and you know what , your lucky to at least get a 7th film made. it could be worse #1 , and #2 at least it’s better than nothing. the point of seeing a movie is to just have fun and escape from reality for a couple of hours. bottom line , stop acting like party poopers and just see the damn movie before you start acting like cry babies. in the words of Ash : Well hello Mister Fancypants. Well, I’ve got news for you pal, you ain’t leadin’ but two things, right now: Jack and shit… and Jack left town.I dont mean to be rude , but I mean dear god you people act like every signel whining , complaining , negative person in every single website I have ever been on. there is no difference. so single difference. even here they find more topics to complain about and target more people to complain at. and it’s all thanks to 1 single and short teaser trailer that caused this firestorm. that’s all it takes folks. 1 minute. where’s R J MaCready when we need him?

  47. Avatar of anthonyd1

Wow people are being way to harsh. First off, some of the best films in the horror genre are extremely low budget and have found success. Second of all, we have been waiting since 2006 for another installment in this beloved series and when we first get a glimpse of the carnage we are going to be experiencing in a couple months, all we do is complain and bitch? Im sorry but I cannot wait to see Leatherface chasing people down with that glorious chainsaw. I might be one of the few, but I am pumped for this installment.

  48. Avatar of Jack957

Why does he have two arms. I believe in the first reboot he got one chopped off in the slaughter house. I really doubt he has the know how to sow that bastard back on, and he would look really weird sitting in a hospital waiting room.

  49. Avatar of Darkness69

I must say I don’t find this trailer bad! It’s got some nifty scenes there and I’m totally up for it in January! Bring it on, Leatherface!

  50. Avatar of Lionel-Cosgrove

Ugh! I love this franchise but this trailer looks terrible. I noticed that many users mentioned not liking the trailer but that they were going to see it anyway. Don’t you guys realize that this attitude is exactly the reason why we keep getting these awful movies? Quality control starts with us.

  51. Avatar of ImPetrified

Eh, it looks okay. I’ll probably see it if nothing better comes out in January. It loses points in my book for falling back on the old “retarded teenagers go to an old house in the middle of nowhere and get chopped by a random killer” troupe. Also if the original took place in 1974 (and let’s assume Leatherface was like 20 when it happened), shouldn’t the killer be like 58 to 60+ years old? That doesn’t make any sense for him to be able to chase dumb teens around with a heavy chainsaw!

  52. Avatar of Jack957

Seriously, why does he have two arms? This another reboot?

  53. Avatar of zer0M

Upon hearing the news for this I was excited… After seeing this trailer I’m going to pirate the shit out of this when a decent copy is out. I’ll save my money… Movies are too damn expensive. I have to be convinced that it’s gonna be worth my time or my wallet will stay sealed, you feel me? TCM 03 trailer blew my fucking mind hitchhiker style, and I dropped the extra dough on that special ed. dvd that came w/ all the photos etc. I can’t imagine enjoying this, even whilst getting blown for its duration. It should be obvious that studios would sell us the malodorous corn from our tepid shit if they knew we would buy it… And from the look of some of these comments, it seems like a few of you would be all too happy to gape your ass for extraction. “At least it’s not as bad as… Let’s watch before we judge” Unless you’re getting a check there’s no need to defend this mediocre cash grab. Now I know why teachers would get pissed as fuck whenever I turned in obviously rushed, uninspired half assed work. Money talks… So I’ll use mine to say fuck this movie.

    • Avatar of Aaron Emery

and that’s exactly why movies cost what they do, because people steal them. How can you even make both those statements in the same sentence? Also the more you steal, the less we get. Why would studios waste time and money on something of worth to be stolen when they could just make some more Twilight shit and bank off it.

      • Avatar of zer0M

Piracy is only one factor why tics are so expensive… I spend a shit ton of money on movies, just not shitty ass ones. The amount of money I spend to see films and purchase dvds/blurays is shameful. A small village of indigenous people from a 3rd world country can be fed for months w/ the funds I’ve happily delivered to studios. So please Emery, reserve the righteous indignation. Pirating movies is my way of returning the perceived cock slap that has been maliciously inflicted by joyless, creatively defective, gluttonous producers. Petitions are cool. I’ll sign it, even though I seriously doubt anyone is gonna give a shit.

  54. Avatar of Seth_Adams

Going to watch this. To me it looks like it might be good. I loved the remake and like tcm the beginning. I hated the original tcm, idk why, just couldn’t tickle my fancy.

  55. Avatar of Jack957

I honestly think the remake was better than the original. Leatherface was a squealing idiot in the original, these reboots he is a giant beast of a maniac. This movie is sending a few weird signals, like where did that old grimy look go? Where is the crazy cult family. If they only put in Leatherface it wouldn’t be right. The crazy family adds the sense of no hope. Crazy guy with the wrong face on is just the cherry on the sundae.
