‘Almost Human’ Comes Out Swinging With A New Trailer And A Badass Poster

Channel 83 Films has announced the debut of the trailer for the indie horror film Almost Human with a new poster designed by The Dude Designs (aka Tom Hodge). He’s known for his incredible designs for such posters as Hobo with a Shotgun and The Innkeepers, along with the recent DVD artwork for They Live. He supplied Almost Human with it’s beautiful retro artwork, giving off a vibe that harkens back to 80’s sci-fi/horror, much in line with the film itself.

In the film, written and directed by Joe Begos, “Mark Fisher disappeared from his home in a brilliant flash of blue light almost two years ago. His friend Seth Hampton was the last to see him alive. Now a string of grisly, violent murders leads Seth to believe that Mark is back, and something evil is inside of him.

The film stars Graham Skipper (Re-Animator: The Musical), Vanessa Leigh, and Josh Ethier. Almost Human has just completed post-production. More on a release date when it comes in. Be sure to hit up the film’s official Facebook and head inside for the goods! READ MORE

The New York City Horror Film festival is the most looked forward to horror festival in the New York City area, and with good reason. Its for the fans, not very commercialized, and mega fun. After having been stuck in post-production and therefore ending up much delayed, Filmkoncept Scandinavia is proud to announce that Swedish chiller Mara is finally completed and ready for delivery. Check out the newly released English-subbed trailer.

Making her feature film acting debut, popular Swedish model Angelica Jansson stars as Jenny, who as a little girl witnessed a brutal, gruesome murder. An utterly grotesque act committed by an insane woman. A violent deed that has forever scarred Jenny.

Along with four friends, Jenny — now an adult — returns to the scene where the murder was committed: a picturesque but secluded house in the woods. The five friends intend to have a nice time and to party, but the stay is also supposed to serve as therapy for Jenny. She wants to confront her past.

What was supposed to be a relaxing weekend in the countryside becomes a blood-soaked nightmare when it turns out that the five friends aren’t alone in the house. An intruder is hiding in the shadows. Somebody unknown is out for Jenny, who desperately has to fight for her life.

“Mara” is written, produced and directed by Fredrik Hedberg, Åke Gustafsson and Jacob Kondrup; the founders of Filmkoncept Scandinavia. READ MORE

Like Reading? And Werewolves? You Might Wanna Give “Feral” A Try!

As a blogger and all around online presence, Matt Serafini definitely knows his sh*t when it comes to horror. I occasionally butt heads with him for liking something I don’t (or vice versa), but he’s certainly done his homework on the genre and is someone I respect.

And he’s got his first book out! “Feral” is available on the Amazon Kindle store (with a physical publication in the coming weeks) for only $4.99. And if you’re feeling tender about even that low of a price, you can always check out a sample chapter! I haven’t had a chance to read it but am certainly looking forward to doing so when I get a moment.

In the book, “It was supposed to be an idyllic summer vacation for college friends Jack Markle and Allen Taylor. But they didn’t know about the evil lurking in the resort town of Greifsfield. When Allen falls under the influence of insidious beauty Elisabeth Luna, Jack begins to realize that sinister forces are at work all around him. And now he’s fighting to save his friends from an age-old evil he never believed could exist.

Even if it kills him.
