Obsessive Collective Disorder
Why open world collectibles have me questioning my mental status.
I realised something about myself last week that I had never previously considered. I'm an obsessive compulsive hoarder.

Who is your jungler, and what does he do?
Why hello there. Chances are you probably don't know who I am, but that's understandable. Allow me to introduce myself then...
Dead Space 3 makes me want to vomit in despair
Hello! My name is Marc Gavinjo – the J is silent! – and I'm the key spokesperson, goodwill co-ordinator and public brand ambassador for Pemberton-Spunkmeyer, the world's leading manufacturer in pretty much everything on the planet.
What's in your pile of shame?
Gosh. Right now the games industry is drier than a cream cracker thinly topped with peanut butter and left in the Sahara desert for a month, which makes it pretty much the diametric opposite to the 201...
Have you ever lost a video game?
This might sound quite trivial really, but last night I felt a moment of blind panic when I thought I'd lost my Xbox 360 hard drive. Now, while that isn't a game, it brought back memories of the time I did lose a video game. Losing a game might not sounds like a big deal, but for someone who loves games it's a moment you never want to experience.
Are Battlefield 3's dedicated servers really that bad?
Confession: I am one of the people Dave explicitly doesn't like. After reading his recent article, [url=http://www.videogamer.com/xbox360/battlefield_3/features/article/how_ea_is_taking_multiplayer_ga...

Say hello to the new VideoGamer.com office!
Greetings, friends!
As many of you probably don't know, this week VideoGamer bid farewell to its old office to move into a swanky new gaffe in central Croydon. Hurrah! We're still not quite fully set-u...
My perfect E3
Being completely honest, I'm finding it hard to get excited about E3 2012 - this is coming from someone who made trailer compilation DVDs for uni friends back in 2003 to make sure they all saw the great new games on show.
Hey, I just met you and this is crazy
According to a study conducted by the New York University, we form first impressions of one another within just seven seconds of being introduced. Seven seconds? That’s barely enough time to flash a bit of leg and say hello.

The Happiest Moment of My Gaming Career
I wasn't expecting it, to be honest. I rarely get messages on Xbox LIVE these days: I'm an infrequent dabbler in multiplayer at the best of times, and when do I venture online... well, what is there to say?
What a difference a box art makes
I'm not usually someone who cares about box art, but a few examples have come to my attention this week that I can't stand idly by and ignore. Someone needs to speak the truth about the state of video game box art.
Do we still need E3?
It's that time again. In almost exactly five weeks Mr Gaston and I will be on our way to Los Angeles, the land of endless freeways, dizzying advertising, and ice-cream sundaes with bacon in them.
Why didn't Trials Evolution get a 10?
Last week, if you weren't too busy playing Trials Evolution, you might have spotted my 9/10 review of Trials Evolution. It's my usual...
Will this year's best games be dominated by downloadable titles?
We've had good download-only games for years, but 2012 is shaping up to be the mediums's best year to date. In fact, we've been treated to and are yet to get our hands on so much good stuff that our Game of the Year list could well be dominated by them.
I played my Vita every day for around two months. It was my go-to games console all over January and February, to the extent that I even played the less than stellar releases, and dabbled with some old PSP classics. Now, less than two months after its February 22 release in the UK, I can't remember the last time I turned the handheld on.
Why I'm still sad that Bizarre and PGR are dead
I love video games. I love them so much that I chose to write about them for next to no money for most of my early adult life. But despite that, there are few game series I care passionately about. I've got a soft spot for Gears of War and God of War, but it's PGR that ranks as my favourite video game series of all time. Sadly for me and other PGR fans, it's a series that for all intents and purposes is dead.

It's amazing how far we've come
I subscribed to PlayStation Plus a few months ago, and it's an excellent service that offers users some great bonuses - such as free games and heavily discounted titles. Some of those free downloads are PSOne titles, and it's these that I've gravitated to.
Kid Icarus' lefty options make me want to stage an uprising
Popular angel-em-up Kid Icarus: Uprising swoops (do you see what I did there) onto Nintendo's 3DS today, allowing players to dick around in what is basically a snazzier version of Panzer Dragoon, t...
Microsoft execs need to watch Spinal Tap
Look! My blog is back from the dead! To celebrate this momentous occasion, my first post of 2012 will be guest-written by Captain Obvious.
Microsoft is becoming a more casual version of PS2-era Sony
My sister turned 12 years old yesterday. Her main gift was an Xbox 360 with Kinect (she's not spoilt by the way - she'd saved lots of the money towards it herself, but that's beside the point). While I'd love to say she wanted the console for the hundreds of quality gamer's games available, her decision was all down to Kinect and the various fun little games available on XBLA.
Here's what's happening with reviews
Hello! Today I want to talk about reviews.

What's wrong with Leon's face in Resident Evil 6?
I'm one of the few people who actually enjoyed Resident Evil 5, and I absolutely love Resident Evil 4, so you could say I'm a little bit excited about what Capcom has in store for November 20 with Resi 6 - but what the hell have they done to Leon's face?

Misery of the Misplaced Moggy - Part 3
(Part 1, Part 2)
After what feels like a half a month of hesitation, you gingerly climb the steps to the attic, wooden slats creaking underfoot. As you rise into the gloom, a damp staleness assaults your nostrils.
So many games, so little time
Boo hoo, poor little me, with my first world problems. Today I've been contemplating how I'm ever going to play all the games I want to get through before the end of the year.
The curse of free apps
I have a problem. I am addicted to browsing for Apps that are free. I spend more time doing this than actually playing games on my iPod touch, constantly forcing me to delete old apps to free up more space for new ones.
