    "BEST FILE-HOSTING SITE EVER BUT..."

    June 23, 2012  |   By xerjie_drex30

    Version: MediaFire

    Pros

    Fast Download
    No Waiting Time
    No Stupid Survey's
    No Download Speed Limit
No File Download Limit Per Day
    Unlimited Parallel Downloads
    Unlimited File Storage

Able To Copy Someone's Files On Mediafire (But Beware Of Copyright Issue That Can Cause Your MediaFire Account Got Suspended) That Was TRAGIC!

MediaFire Express (MediaFire Uploader) - Good Uploading Sofware Ever

No Advertisement Even In Free Users - WHY? Just Use "ADBLOCK"

I'm Using MediaFire Almost 1 And A Half Year - Still,This Is The Best File-Hosting Site Ever

    Cons

    1. NOT SAFE FOR BACK-UP,FORGET ABOUT THAT FEATURE FOR FREE USER - For Free Users,All Your Files Are Not Permanently Stored On Their Server,All Of Your Files Can Be Deleted By MediaFire Due To "ACCOUNT INACTIVITY" (In Order To Avoid That,You Should Regulary Login To Your Account Or Someone Is Regularly Downloading Your Files) Which Is Annoying To Those Who Have Private Files Stored On MediaFire - THEN,MEDIAFIRE SHOULD NOTIFY US VIA EMAIL ATLEAST 1 WEEK AFTER OUR FILES GOT DELETED

    2. 200 MB MAXIMUM UPLOAD,MAXIMUM DOWNLOAD LIMIT FOR FREE USERS

    3. MAYBE A HIGH PRICE FOR BUSINESS EDITION $49 DOLLARS!

    4. MORE FEATURES - LIKE MULTIPLE RENAMING THE FILE NAME AND DESCRIPTION - RENAMING ONE BY ONE ISN'T A JOKE

    5. MORE FEATURES - MULTIPLE FOLDER SET TO PRIVACY - AGAIN,ONE BY ONE ISN'T A JOKE SPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE 10,000 FILES

    6. COPYRIGHT ISSUES - THIS IS THE MOST IRRITATING ON MEDIAFIRE! I KNOW THEY AVOIDING THE TRAGIC FATE OF "MEGAUPLOAD.COM" SO BEWARE OF EXPOSING YOUR FILES TO OTHER!

    Summary

FOR FREE USERS - MEDIAFIRE ISN'T A PLACE OF DATA STORAGES/BACK-UPS

TRICKS - MEDIAFIRE NOTIFY US IF A FILE IS COPYRIGHTED THINGY OR VIOLATED,TO DELETE THOSE FILES TO AVOID YOUR ACCOUNT BECOME SUSPEND...

I HEARD THAT "CHANGING THE FILE NAME" DO THE TRICK...BUT YOU SHOULD REGULARLY CHECK YOUR EMAIL...SO YOU'LL KNOW ABOUT YOUR MEDIAFIRE ACCOUNT STATUS :]

BE AWARE OF DMCA "US DIGITAL MILLENNIUM COPYRIGHT ACT OF 2000"
IF THOSE FILE IS NOT YOURS,CREDIT IT TO THE OWNER,DISTRIBUTOR ETC... SPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE A BLOG/WEBSITE THAT HOSTING DOWNLOADS

TOTAL...OVERALL THE BEST FILE-HOSTIING SITE EVER (HOPEFULLY THERE'S A NEW AND BETTER FILE-HOSTING SITE THAN MEDIAFIRE)

    FOR ME

    RANK 1 - MEDIAFIRE
    RANK 2 - JUMBOFILES

"Forget Mediafire find another file sharing site-"

    June 10, 2012  |   By andreaborman

    Version: MediaFire

    Pros

I have been using Mediafire for several months noW.But in the last few months I have started to have problems.First, many times when I have logged into my account and try to download a file I am forced to copy catchpa(letters and characters they give you to verify) before the site will take me to the download page. Why do I have to complete catchps to download MY OWN FILES that I have put there? But now I have an even worse problem-the Mediafire website is broken and now I cannot download any of my files and nether can my friends and other people I have talked to who have tried. And Mediafire won't fix the problem.

    Cons

Uses flash which slows down the website. I am forced to enter catchpa to download MY OWN FILES.

Puts adverts and keylogers on the downloads. Now the downloads are not working on Mediafire because of a fault on their website that they won't admit to when I emailed them about it.

What happens is that I and other people try to download the file but are just redirected back to the download page again and again. But NO Download. You cannot download anything. This fault has been going on since Friday 8th June for 2 days now.It is now Sunday. And Mediafire won't fix it. so I and other users cannot download our files.

    Summary

The customer service of Mediafire is terrible, and I found out the hard way. There is a fault on the website and now you cannot download any of your files or anything. This has been going on for 2 days now. You are taken to the download page but when you click the download button you are just redirected back to the download page again and again but NO DOWNLOAD.They also force you to enter catchpa before they take you to the download page.

Why do I have to enter catchpa to download MY OWN FILES? But now I do not have any access to my files because I cannot download them. There is a fault on the website,Mediafire that has been there for 2 days but Mediafire won't fix it.

I emailed them and in the first email they told me they removed 1 bad file from another user and the IWF got involved and blocked Mediafire, and that they are fixing it. But yesterday after I complained again by email. They emailed me again and said it is the IWF who blocked the site but now the website is working for everyone else. NO IT IS NOT. My Friends and I and other people in the UK I have talked to still cannot download their files or anything.

But Mediafire won't fix the problem. And now I cannot download or access any of my files and not only me. My friends cannot either.

So my advice stay away from Mediafire. If you are with Mediafire leave and find another file sharing site. And if you have left Mediafire don't go back. The service of Mediafire is disgusting and they don't care about their customers at all. Andrea Borman.

    Updated on Jun 10, 2012

Mediafire say in their email that I got this morning that the IWF had blocked their site.Because another user uploaded a bad file. But that story seems far fetched. Why would the IWF block downloads on a website over 1 bad file, which Mediafire had removed? And now they won't admit there is still a problem on their site and as a result I and other user cannot download our files. And Mediafire won't fix the problem. They are just using the IWD as an excuse because they don't want to fix the fault on their website. But now I have no access to my files and neither do a lot of other people. I can get on the site, log into my account, but I cannot download anything. Many other people have the same problem. I cannot recommend Mediafire now because of the bad service and poor and uncaring customer service. And the fact that they won't fix the fault on their website. Andrea Borman.

    Updated on Jun 10, 2012

Well it is now Sunday 2 days later and I still cannot download my files and neither can anyone else I have talked to,download their files. So the problem has not been resolved. Andrea Borman.

    Updated on Jun 17, 2012

FileFolder,No,that's not what happened. I contacted my ISP by phone several times and they told me they did not block Mediafire and do not block websites. I emailed Media fire who said the IWF did block Mediafire due to another user uploading a bad file.

    Here is email from Mediafire-
    "Hello,
Thank you for contacting MediaFire. We were able to diagnose the issue fairly early this morning, noting that it was not an issue on our end but rather having to do with a file that was reported to the IWF.(which has been removed from our website) However, our lead technician who reached out to our contact in the UK has indicated that it may take some time for your ISP's connection to Mediafire to be restored as it has to do with IWF laws which we took care of immediately and unfortunately have no control over. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. You may want to contact your internet service provider to see if they have any additional information regarding the matter.

    Updated on Jun 17, 2012

But the problem went on for 3 more days and I posted about this on some other forums and everybody else had the same problem as me. But it's not just that,Why do I have to enter catchpa to download MY OWN FILES when I am logged into my account? So service in genneral is not good on Mediafire. Ge,tt is much better but there are may file sharing sites to choose from Andrea Borman.

    "it's OK as a second back-up"

    March 23, 2012  |   By jason0554

    Version: MediaFire

    Pros

it's free & has no storage limit (so far) upload/download is not bad, about 100kbps here in China, which is normal.
site is very easy to use but making your files ''private'' is unclear at first. you can upload lots of things in 1 hit unlike skydrive which is 1 at a time. if you are thinking of using Adrive then dont bother, i tried it and it's crap

    Cons

file size limit at the moment is 200mb each. which means no hd vid's

    Summary

    it's very good for free.
my advise is use this site for small files (smaller than 200mb) & use 4shared for vidios or other files up to 2gb, which is what i do, 4shared is easy to use and has 15gb free after you conferm your email address. hope i was helpfull

"Solid service w/ deceptive billing & hypocritical terms"

    June 27, 2011  |   By gsusser

    Version: MediaFire

    Pros

Fast and reliable for free and paying users.

    Cons

They bill if your download bandwidth is exceeded, a ridiculous practice. Second, after my annual contract ended, without notice, they started billing me at a higher monthly rate. They could have at least informed me that my contract ended.

    Summary

Full discosure: they basically kicked me off, or at least told me to remove my files because it violated their terms. These were music playlists of mostly old and obscure music. I won't get into this tiring argument, a philosophy that put many music companies out of business. Suffice to say that I was not uploading current stuff or albums, just stuff that was very difficult to find. Their deceptive billing is another thing to watch out for. Have your lawyer read their Terms of Use before agreeing to them.

    "Erased years worth of files"

    May 16, 2011  |   By liz252

    Version: MediaFire

    Pros

    NONE......

    Cons

They sent me an email yesterday saying I needed to sign on so my files were not erased. I signed on less then 20 hours after receiving the email everything was gone. They say they cannot resolve this issue my files are lost forever.

    Summary

If you use this be aware that your files maybe erased with very little notice. Customer service is frustrating because its all through email.Years worth of work and hundreds of files are gone.
