The North Segment begins at the confluence of the Columbia and Willamette Rivers and extends upstream (south) 6 miles to the St. Johns Bridge. A portion of the Multnomah Channel, which runs along the south edge of Sauvie Island and joins the Columbia farther downstream, is included in this river segment. A portion of Portland's working harbor is in the North Segment.
