Grrr! Bad students!

   Hello all, my name's Michael, aka the Gaijin (I hear it at least once a week around here). I've been living in Japan for about three and a half years now, and in Kumamoto City for the last six months. It's a nice little town, quiet, alright shopping area downtown, huge castle in the middle of it all... oh yes, and my girlfriend is from here.

   At first, I was working for one of the big English conversation (eikaiwa) companies here in Japan, but things didn't quite pan out. Now, I'm working part-time at a kindergarten, and enjoying myself much more. The kids are cute, if not always exceptionally well behaved, and there's lots of fun to be had.

   Originally, I'm from Oklahoma City, and still visit home over the holidays. I went to university in New Orleans for four years, before working in Europe for a while. My video game collection now includes six languages, and I'm trying hard to learn enough of each to play them.
