In a world of free to play social games and cheap to play mobile games, who'd be bothered to shell out top coin for a console title these days? Well, mohawk guy for one. SOUNDBITE: Gareth Bradbury, Halo enthusiast, saying (English) "It's absolutely amazing. I'm so impressed It's visually amazing and the gameplay is so smooth and fluid. It's really effective what they've done. It's such an improvement." Announced at the E3 gaming conference in June, Halo 4 is the latest update to Microsoft's blockbuster gaming franchise which is now in its 11th year. Halo 4 is actually the 8th version of the game - but it also marks an important first says Lucy James of the gaming channel Ginx TV SOUNDBITE: Lucy James, Ginx TV host saying (English) "Halo 4 is the first game produced by 343 Industries, normally the franchise is handled by Bungee so a lot of the fans are excited, I'd say nervous because it's a new direction. It's a new trilogy in the Halo law so the expectations are high." Frank O'Connor is the Franchise Development Director at 343 Industries. It's his job to oversee the future direction of the Halo world. SOUNDBITE: Frank O'Connor, Halo Franchise Development Director 343 Industries saying (English): "It's a big game with a lot of content. Just about everything is new." SOUNDBITE: Matt Cowan, Reuters Technology Correspondent saying (English): "So when you're competing against social games that people are playing for free on Facebook and mobile games that cost a real fraction of the price, what is it you do to bring people back to the console experience?" SOUNDBITE: Frank O'Connor, Halo Franchise Development Director 343 Industries saying (English): "You know, I think there's always going to be demand for big-ticket AAA entertainment experiences. You know, Hollywood has the same conversation every couple of years: some technology is going to kill movies, it's piracy or it's VHS or whatever it is but the reality is the public has an endless appetite for really good quality big budget entertainment. And that's true of video games just as much as it is for movies...getting hundreds, sometimes thousands of hours worth of entertainment from a 60 dollar purchase is a fantastic value for money." SOUNDBITE: Jason Bradbury, Gadget Show Host, saying (English): "This is a luxury item. If you're a youngster, this is one of your main Christmas presents." Gadget Show host Jason Bradbury has a voice cameo in the new game...and has had a sneak peek at the game play. SOUNDBITE: Jason Bradbury, Gadget Show Host, saying (English): "The star attraction's back in it. There are some new gaming modes. There's some new vehicles and there are new weapons and the thing is I can't talk about those things but they are awesome." The game is launched in most territories around the world on November 6th.
