Why is your video not playing on my desktop?

Our video redesign included new functionality which requires Flash "wmode" transparency support. Unfortunately, Adobe's Flash Player has a bug on Linux systems which causes this particular piece of core functionality to not work. It's a commonly known issue among the Linux community, caused originally by problems on both the Mozilla and Adobe sides.

Firefox fixed the issue on their side with the release of Firefox 3.

The next version of Flash Player (10) will include a fix for this transparency issue. The beta version of the player can be found here.
