27 May 2010 - Distant Worlds II Concert to Feature FFXIII and FFXIV Music
On the evening of June 12, the Stockholm Concert Hall's Main Hall will be crowded with game music fans from all over the world. The eagerly anticipated Distant Worlds II - More Music from Final Fantasy will premiere. The Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra will be playing under the baton of Arnie Roth. Nobuo Uematsu will be the guest of honour and will also attend a now sold out VIP 'meet and greet' session.
The program features a wide range of music from the Final Fantasy series. While the majority of the arrangements have been performed, many have never been heard in Europe before. Furthermore, the album will feature selections from the newly released Final Fantasy XIII and the upcoming Final Fantasy XIV. Final Fantasy XIII's "Fang's Theme" and "The Promise" were specially adapted for orchestra performance on the event. Given Final Fantasy XIII's score was entirely composed by Masashi Hamauzu, these performances represent the first time a Distant Worlds concert isn't completely dedicated to Nobuo Uematsu's music.
