Aion Goes Free-to-Play, Renamed Aion: Ascension
Big changes next month.
03.19.12 - 9:57 PM

Update 3.0 is going to be a big one for NCSoft's PC MMORPG Aion next month - a really big one. The title, launched back in 2009, will be just the latest to adopt the free-to-play model when the update hits. Scheduled for April 11th, the game will be re-branded as Aion: Ascension, raising the level cap to 60, and adding on new zones, houses, mounts and so on. Players will also gain access to everything in the game; this includes both expansions, 3000 quests, 30+ instances and a couple of auction houses.

For more on Aion (or at least, its state in 2009), you'll find both our gallery and Stephen Harris' gallery linked below.
