This Jamo S 426 5 piece home theater system is a terrific value, combining great style and carefully engineered sound. A 2-way bass-reflex system with 140 watts of power handling results in punchy, yet defined sound. Included wall brackets make placement in your home theater flexible, leaving the floor uncluttered. These speakers are the perfect upgrade to any living room.
The price is not that great. I brought this set a few month ago from local dealer for $130. This set's sound is passable but not great. Ok for movies but not so good music.

The Jamo® brand is owned by the Klipsch Group a wholly-owned subsidiary of Audiovox Corporation (NASDAQ:VOXX). Most users on the AVS forum think the products suck. Jamo is more well known in the EU, some what new to American markets.

Terrible speakers. Save your money. These have been cheaper elsewhere and have been this price for the same thing sold as Energy from the egg many times.

These are absolute junk. Honestly, anyone looking for speakers at around this price point would be better off buying a good pair of stereo speakers and then building out a home theater setup over time. For instance, a pair of Paradigm Atom speakers, which are generally considered excellent (by professional reviewers, users, etc.), are typically available for around $250. A single pair of those, despite the lack of extra channels, will put this set to shame. And an eventual multi-channel arrangement consisting of those and other quality speakers will provide satisfaction for many, many years.

Not surprising to read that these things don't sound good, especially for music. There's no way that 5 good sounding, full-range speakers can be made and sold at this price point. But maybe they DO sound good to people who typically listen to music via inexpensive computer speakers or docks designed for portable players.

Smoking deal. I have this same set in my basement and they rock (bought from Ultimate Electronics 2 yrs ago). They are a steal at $399 much less $179. I will buy another for my master bedroom. Thx AMAZON!

Chosen by the experts here at ^A^ we have a very fine collection of speakers. Priced to allow, those previously denied access to the final elements of their hi-fi sound system, a means of completing their dream system. The sounds provided by these speakers are indescribable, unlike anything you might hear from speakers costing many times more. Don't listen to the negative bleats from those who cannot hear the truth, allow ^A^ to make your day.

Cosmic Shovel's camelcamelcamel, at www.camelcamelcamel.com/product/B003GGXGU6, began tracking on 2012/07/25. The price has remained the same at $399 until today's Gold Box DOTD.
Perhaps the above may help one decide to take or not take the plunge. FYI.

No, I believe the Energy speakers that have been on sale at newegg for $200-$150 since last December are the RC-Micro and Mini, totally different speakers -- yes Energy is also Klipsch, but they are much smaller than these, and (for what they are) probably better. At least those are the sales that people have gotten excited about, anyway.
But perhaps there is some model/sales that I am not aware of. What is the model name of the Energy speakers that are "the same thing" as these?

Unless you live in a closet inside a mobile home, STAY AWAY FROM THIS GARBAGE. I'm surprised Amazon has the nads to post this as a deal-of-the-day. Actually, I'm not; they're getting more and more 'Walmart' every day.
I believe Kraziness (above) said it best: ''I have a pair in my basement...!''

No it's not the Micro or Mini it's this exact same garbage sold as Energy. Buy these if you've never heard decent speakers or don't care what they sound like. If you have heard decent speakers stay far away from this trash. This is no deal. They have been this same price from the egg many times and have been $130 at Frys half a dozen times. Even at $130 they are a ripoff.
It seems they were highly regarded and reviewed based on your link. I am surprised by your remarks. Seems Newegg is trying to get more? You say garbage but all the reviews are stellar?

Folks who pan moderately priced speakers or headphones are sometimes like wine snobs or wannabe wine snobs. Their assessments of relative value are even less reliable when they're anonymous.

If you're on a budget or a 'tween' or just starting out in home theater, I'm sure this system would be fine. However, you DO get what you pay for. My theory is: "you can't spend too much on speakers". (no kidding) I'm in my mid 50s, a part time musician, and my 5.1 system (except for the 3 subs) consists of Martin Logans costing $2 - 3 K each. Just gota make it REAL.

I own these myself. I bought them at my local Fry's for 2/3 of the price ($119.99) They put these speakers on sale for between 120 and 150 1-2 times a month. If you have a local Fry's skip on this deal.

I just called FRY's and that's what they said. seems they cant get anymore and a few stores had some left over that were demo's and were towers only. At $179 i bought two sets that were NEW fro AMAZON instead of used goods from fry's!

"You can't spend too much on speakers." I understand what you're saying--quality parts and build cost money--but I can think of many examples of speakers with prices that outpace performance. Bose is a fine example, but there are many more. And that's just speakers. There are hundreds of expensive a/v products that perform no better than much less expensive models. Some brands of speaker cables and inter-connects are notoriously overpriced and perform no better than something you could get for much less elsewhere.

@Kraziness How long have you been on the Klipsch/Energy payroll? Or do they just pay you per review? I hope it's the latter - - with reviews for 8 of their earbuds/headphones, 4 sets of speakers, 2 home theater systems, a soundbar, an ipod dock, and a wireless system, you must be cleaning up. And all verified, too. Yes, that is more convincing.

Just so. Another unhappy effect of mass marketing has been the virtual disappearance of the design and building of speakers from component parts as a hobby.
