Xbox Live Indie Uprising: Sententia is an art game with a heart

"Never give up!"

Michael Hicks' wistful adventure Sententia reads back like a rallying cry to Xbox Live Indie developers and creative sorts at large. "I am a special creature, and I have a purpose, and I'll never give up on it!" the game's impish star writes in a letter to his grandpa. Thanks, Michael. That's twice in one month I've wept like a baby in public.

The second of this week's Indie Uprising recommendations, Sententia "is an 'art game' that explores the challenges we face to keep our imagination alive as we grow".

"Start your journey through life's forest as a young creature and build your way through it by solving puzzles, interacting with your fellow creatures, and defending your ideas with your own sententia," reads the blurb.

There appears to be some kind of construction feature, which you'll use to construct bridges and the like. Also, you can spit at monsters to make them evaporate in clouds of floral handwriting. Sounds like there's a metaphor involved. Download here for 80 MP.
