The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is building the world's leading film museum, and one of Los Angeles' most important new cultural institutions and tourist destinations—the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures. Designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Renzo Piano and celebrated Los Angeles architect Zoltan Pali, the Museum will be dedicated to exploring the history and future of the motion picture.

Once completed, the Museum will be a state-of-the-art masterpiece and will contain 230,000 square feet of theatres, galleries, interactive movie-making stages, education centers and special event spaces. Positioned next to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art's two newest structures—the Broad Contemporary Art Museum and the Lynda and Stewart Resnick Exhibition Pavilion—the Museum will become the anchor of Los Angeles' Museum Row.

For the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures to become a reality, the Academy must raise $250 million. The Campaign for the Museum is fortunate to have at the helm three exceptional leaders—Bob Iger, Annette Bening and Tom Hanks—who are building a strong community of partners to help achieve this goal.

Major donors to the Campaign will be recognized for their support in a variety of Academy and Museum publications and will receive invitations to exclusive events. Gifts of $250,000 and above will be listed on a permanent Founding Supporters wall in the grand lobby of the Museum. In addition, there are many opportunities available for donors interested in naming core components of the Museum through a transformational gift to the Campaign.
