iCloud.com revamped with Reminders and Notes apps ahead of iOS 6 debut

Revamped iCloud.com

Apple began beta testing a new version of iCloud.com back in May, and the changes have now rolled out to the official version of the site. As noted by 9to5Mac, the updated site is now available to all iCloud users, and features both Reminders and Notes apps that sync with their iOS and Mac counterparts. Both take heavy design cues from the iPad versions of the same apps (including some rather questionable font choices).

Find My iPhone has also received some tweaks, with the web app now offering a "lost mode" that works in conjunction with iOS 6. According to Apple, the new feature wil allow users to lock their device if it's stolen or lost, and send a contact number to the phone. Anyone that finds it can call the owner back at that number without being able to unlock or access the rest of the phone. The mail web app has also received...

iphone 5

With the iPhone 5, Apple has finally tackled key areas where its Android competition previously held an advantage: a larger display, high-speed 4G LTE networking, and an improved camera are all inside the new flagship iOS device. The company has also pushed forward its reputation for stellar build quality with a unibody aluminum shell that should scale back the number of Genius Bar visits for...

iphone 5 stock

The new iPhone is finally official. Apple has named its sixth-generation smartphone the iPhone 5 and Phil Schiller has detailed its full set of features, specs, and release details. Measuring 7.6mm in thickness and 112 grams in weight, this is the thinnest and lightest iPhone that Apple has ever made, and is constructed "entirely" out of glass and aluminum. The new iPhone looks pretty much identical to all the leaks and mockups we've seen in the past few weeks — evidently Apple wasn't able to keep a lid on its most anticipated product, after all.

I was raised by Tim "The Toolman" Taylor to believe Real Men don't ask for directions; and then they get lost in the wilderness and get berated by their wife. Such is the way of things. But, like a precocious young JTT, I've decided to blaze my own path and stray from Tim's example: I love asking for directions.

Before I left the internet, I did it as a sort of thought exercise. I don't need help from this salesperson, but maybe they'll prove their worth — if they're bluffing, it will only take a couple Google searches to find out. Sure, I could order the thing on the menu that sounds good to me and that I can pronounce, but maybe the...

Will LTE buckle under the iPhone 5's weight?

AT&T 4G LTE logo stock 1020

If you've owned a smartphone on AT&T for longer than a couple years, you likely remember this well: the network was pushed to the brink of disaster by the overwhelming popularity of the iPhone 3G, 3GS, and 4. Prior to the iPhone, it had been a commonly-accepted principle that the bulk of the wireless market would gradually move from feature phones to smartphones, but uptake of Apple's...
