Sweden first competed at the Paralympic Games in 1964. They have gone on to win 585 medals. The inaugural Winter Paralympic Games in 1976 were held in Örnsköldsvik, Sweden. Sweden's most successful Paralympic medallist at the Beijing Games in 2008 was Jonas JACOBSSON who won three gold medals in shooting.
