In the women's Single Sculls ASW1x, Moran Samuel of Israel and Claudia Santos of Brazil cruised into the A final. Samuel triumphed in 5:44.78, one second ahead of Santos.

The 2010 world champion, France's Nathalie Benoit, also booked her place in the A final after she won the other repechage. She will be joined by 51-year-old Joan Reid of Canada.

The result means that Filomena Franco of Portugal, a bronze medallist in 2010, has to settle for the B final, where places 7 to 12 are determined.

In the men’s Single Sculls ASM1x, Australian Erik Horrie and Park Jun-Ha from Republic of Korea booked their places in the medal decider.

Aleksey Chuvashev of Russia and Luciano Luna de Oliveria qualified from the second repechage.

Brazilian Oliveria forced 2010 World Championships bronze medallist Danny McBride of New Zealand into the B final.

In the Mixed Double Sculls TAMix2x, Nicholas Beighton and Samantha Scowen won the first repechage to ensure Great Britain will have A final representation in the three Rowing events they entered. Second and joining them were Daniele Stefanoni and Silvia de Maria of Italy.

USA pair Oksana Masters and Rob Jones plus Gavin Bellis and Kathryn Ross of Australia qualified from repechage two, meaning there was no room for 2009 and 2010 world champions Dmytro Ivanov and Iryna Kyrychenko of Ukraine.

World Championships silver medallists Canada surprisingly failed to make theMixed Coxed Four LTAMix4+ final when they finished third in repechage one.

Ukraine and China took full advantage, booking their places with impressive performances. In the other repechage, USA and Italy stayed on course for a medal.
