Great Britain have participated in every Paralympic Games and have won 1,522 medals, placing them second on the all-time medal table.
Their most successful Games were the 1984 Paralympics in Stoke Mandeville, where they won 331 medals (107 gold, 112 silver, 112 bronze).
In 2008 in Beijing, Great Britain won 102 medals to finish second in the final table behind China. The swimmers brought home 44 medals (14 gold, 12 silver, 18 bronze) and the youngest British swimmer, Eleanor SIMMONDS, won gold in the 100m and 400m freestyle.
